They delivered my MD Seve Icon clubs I bought from Dunluce Golf for £70 today. I signed for them in a rush as I am at work and was busy dealing with others at the time. When I had a look at the box the top was ripped open. I counted up the clubs and am the SW short.
I got on the phone to Dunluce straight away who said they will send out a SW today (the last matching one they have in stock which was lucky) they were very sorry on the phone when it was not their fault.
Great service from them but again poor from MyHermes.

I am using them quite a lot now and have not had any problems yet.
Trouble is Parcelforce48 is over twice the price.
Lucky they have what you need, its just the hassle to sort the problem that's a pain.

Dunluce sent me the wrong degree hybrid one time. They were out the next day to collect and deliver the correct club.

Couldn't fault them!

I deal a lot with carriers through work. The delivery guys are under constant pressure to get as many deliveries out as they can. Most have too many and so have no interest or desire in highlighting issues with the customer. If every customer checked the contents, discussed issues with the driver etc then they would not get all of their drop offs done. Not right, just reality.

Hermes are not alone in over loading drivers. All parcel carriers do it. They can only justify their low prices by moving through high volumes.

My own experience is that all can let you down at some point. The key is actually the original packing, not the carrier. You have to ensure your boxes are strong, weak parts are reinforced and plenty of tape is used at joins and the ends. You have to pack expecting the worst.

Why? Their agent could not even be bothered to mention to me the box is ripped and check contents.
I would say the onus is on you as the receiver and signatory to check anything you receive at point of exchange.

Personally I have used myhermes extensively and they have been faultless and exceptional value for money.

out of interest I had to send a double shoe box size box with light-ish household items to a city 100 miles away yesterday- the PO charged me £18.57 pence!!!

Hermes are really hit and miss, but they have improved a fair amount in recent times. Their drivers can be neanderthals, but their escalation process is pretty good if you have trouble.

Parcel2go on the other hand are absolutely brutal.

Have had a problem aw such. they would only deliver a parcel to either of my actual next door neighbours even when I requested the house directly across the street.

Other than that they are fine. Cheap and fine

I've used MyHermes quite a lot and have had no problems on items I've sent.

I have had 2 problems on items I've been the recipient for though - one never received (from here) and another where the Depot lied about it being 'out for delivery' - they had no Drivers, as I found out when it was eventually delivered 3 days late.

I haven't used them since.

Surely it only takes a few seconds to check the box is properly sealed? I would have done that before signing for the delivery.

It matters not anyway now because of the great customer service from Dunluce. Had I checked it and refused the delivery then I would be without all the clubs and Dunluce had sold out.

Sorry but I don't agree. There are a couple of different scenarios. First is that Dunluce forgot to include one and it's just coincidence that the box was torn open. The second is that someone at MyHermes has had it away with your SW and now Dunluce are out of pocket as a result. But all credit to Dunluce for their excellent customer service.

They came in the original manufacturer's box. So doubt they were unopened before they left the shop. Maybe MD forget to put the wedge in the box.
