My non golfer wife just got a golf joke!!!

So there I was, chatting on Skype to the wife while she is on holiday in Canada...

She mentions her father needed help with a cross word, he wanted to know what God created on the sixth day.

My wife said "Adam"

As she told me this I spotted a chance to crack wise and said

"So there it is! Proof golf was created before man"

"How so?" my wife asks.

"Because God is probably a senior member, seniors tend to play on Thursday mornings"

AND SHE LAUGHED!

Biblically isn't Sunday the day of rest, so the first day would be Monday and the 5th Friday.

I've read the joke like 10 times, and honestly...the punch line escapes me. How would golf, a game requiring e dimensions of a human to grip and swing the club be made before a human. Unless humans are made for golf. But then we can trace the creation of golf back a few hundred years...I'm yet to find any existence of god.

Both her and I not being religious I have no idea if I was right, she is just smart and knows lots of things. I just saw a chance to throw in a wisecrack and I had no idea she would laugh. I know its not that funny, it was more of a "you had to be there" kind of humour but the thing that struck me is that she actually found it funny!

Anyway at least I know not to give up the day job and try and make it as a comedian
