Well, met my good mate and 10 handicapper for our traditional Wednesday morning 18 round Gifford. We've played various formats in the past few weeks and I've generally won more than I've lost. Anyway, 'how about Stableford today', says he. Fine by me.

I then birdie the first, par the second and birdie the third on the way to a front nine total of 34 strokes, which included an eagle 3 at the ninth after a drive and a three iron to two feet!!! Scored a 5 at the 10th and then had a major wobble over the next three holes, scoring an 8, 6 and 7! Managed to regain my composure, though and finished 4, 5, 4, 4, 5.

So, in summary, 34 strokes for the front nine, 48 strokes for the back nine for an 82, less 22 strokes for a nett 60 and 48 Stableford points with two blobs!!!! :o

He was striding up the 9th fairway with John Williams playing cello in the background, three barrels dragging uselessly behind him... and he cared not a jot......

Handicap commiteeeeeeeeeee !!

We need a serious handicap meeting before the 25th & 26th of March, Algar when are you free to discuss Del's 22 shots!!!!

New hat!!!!!!

He'll have a new Cleveland Wedge and numerous other prizes after the Machrihanish weekend at this rate!!!!

Not just good shooting, bloody awesome shooting Del!

There must be something in the air.
A Geezer on the Golf Magic site (named "Amaze") has just played an "introductory" round at his new club with a past Captain and two other members of the committee.
He played off 28 and had 38 points in a friendly stableford.
Nothing wrong with that I hear you say.....

apart from the fact that he only scored 4 points on the back 9

delB Great shooting

GREAT SCOTT!!

34 pts on front nine

and then deliberately threw it away to try and keep being a bandito

Just been over and read about that fella on Magic - it was his introduction to a posh club as well! Think he may have messed up a bit there........ Or just made it up.

I am the mate in question:((
Derek has become the biggest PANDIT ever to have the bare faced cheek to challenge me to a game.
Up until now we haven't done anything with his handicap but after his "I usually win" remark that is about to change!!

And to think that not only did I introduce him to the game but also to my local club!!!!!!!

Yours Neill 'looking for a new playing partner' Brotherston
