For months and months its been the best part of my game. Longish and very straight.

Joined a new club last week, played 3 rounds, driving has been a SHAMBLES!!!! Left, right and straight down the middle.....all over the place

Never lost so many balls in my puff!

Last couple of months I've done the same, but the last few rounds have been a lot better. I noticed I had been over turning and trying to knock the daylights out of it. Went back to a 3/4 smooth swing and most are straight ish or slight fade.

I think you're probably right, a combination of trying too hard and trying to hit the ball too hard!!

I'll keep plugging away and see what happens!!

I know how you feel Perry! What course have you joined?

Torrance Park in Newarthill, just down the road from the Newhouse hotel. Decent enough course, greens are superb, only £340 for full membership. No clubhouse yet, work starts in September I believe. Have you played it?

Well I decided to take a few days away from the course and come back refreshed and with a clear head!!!!
Only managed 11 holes last night before it got a bit too dark, managed 6 pars, 2 bogeys and 3 howlers which is a vast improvement on last weeks efforts when I couldn't even hit the ball straight :( . Still a bit to go but confidence lifted after parring the first 3 holes.
Definately think the few days off helped as I had been up the course every night just playing 8 or 9 holes, I think I scunnered myself.

Anyway......Onwards and Upwards!!

Not played it yet, will do at some point though, only 10 mins up the road from me. I have heard it has a good layout.

Its a decent course for the money. Some of the fairways could do with a bit of TLC but as its only been open properly for a few years its not too bad. Very flat and some nice holes, greens are quite well protected as well which makes it tricky. Worth a go!

Don't know why but there website is really poor and they are not marketing it very well. Was only £10 per round up to mid March, if i had known that I'd have been up every week. Still it makes getting a teetime a lot easier!!!
