Maxim playing Meditation.

The opera Thaïs takes place in Egypt during Byzantine rule, where a Cenobite monk, Athanaël, attempts to convert Thaïs, an Alexandrian courtesan and devotée of Venus, to Christianity, but discovers too late that his obsession with her is rooted in lust; while the courtesan's true purity of heart is revealed, so is the religious man's baser nature. The work is often described as bearing a sort of religious eroticism, and has had many controversial productions. Its famous Méditation, the entr'acte for violin and orchestra played between the scenes of Act II, is an oft-performed concert music piece; it has been arranged for many different instruments.

Not much, and I know most people don't like James Blunt, and his song's not about this, but he released this around the same time my other half's mum died, and listening to it made me cry, mainly because of the lyric, "Strong as you are, tender you go, I'm watching you breathing for the last time."

For some reason the line, "A song for your heart, and when it is quiet, I know what it means and I'll carry you home", made me think of having to take my dog to the vets to be put down, and that thought makes me blub for sure!

I don't tend to cry much (even when my golf is that bad) but I d get melancholy and tend to have a dark cloud over me for sometime when certain songs are played. Usually relates back to when my dad was alive and I think of specific moments we shared especially towards then end when the cancer was winning. We'd go down the pub together and there are certain songs from the jukebox that just remind me of the inevitability of it all

The drugs don't work by the verve gets me every time. Got the call at work that my grandad had died and that was on the cd player when I got in the car. Similar thing with counting cars by snow patrol was on the radio when my gran died. Songs on their own do not make me cry but I do remember music that was playing during significant moments and that brings back strong memories
