Does anyone on here use the MIzuno MP Fli-Hi iron-like hybrid? Following on from Hapless' thread about 4 irons, I havn't had a 4 iron in the bag for years. I just wasn't hitting it consistently enough so a 23 or 24 degree hybrid came in.
Now, me and hybrids have a tendancy to follow the left side of the course - quite a bit. Annoyingly so.
Recently I borrowed CVG's MX-25 4 iron. Same shaft but the same length as my 5 - mine are 1/2 inch longer. Hit it really well - albeit only fractionally longer than my 5.
So after a couple more snap hooks with the hybrid, I'm looking at the 2010 MP Fli-Hi 4 iron as a replacement. I'd have it made to the same spec as my MP58's and I was wondering if anyone uses one.
They look the business in the piccy's - never seen one in the metal.
Anyone?

i have the 2 graphite 3 and 4, nice clubs nice bit of metal. they have an offest which helps me. effortless swing produces nice flight and shot. does take a good few shots to get used to them. i got them at direct golf around 50 squid.
also as above low to med flight

I have both a 3 and 4 iron version and they are superb. Easy to hit, easy to control and look much better behind the ball than a traditional shaped hybrid.
Get yourself one and you wont regret it.

I have the 3 & 4 iron.......bought them after trying Paul's 4 iron at Cooden Beach and loved it. Tried to get him to sell it to me but he wouldn't so went out and bought a 3 iron, then bought the 4 off the for sale section on here....great clubs....don't usually have both in the bag, depends on the conditions. If it's windy, I stick the 3 iron in the bag, if not, then I'll go with the 4.

Quite happy to use hybrids as well so tend to mix it up a bit.

I've got an MP32 2 iron and this goes much higher, but is not that easy to hit, where as i don't think i have ever hit a bad shot with the hifi.

The 2 iron CAN fly high off the tee. It's designed to do so. Great for those longer par 3s where you still want a bit of stop but a great driving iron, too.

I have the 2 and 4, they're the best long iron clubs i've ever used. The 4 Fli Hi gets a lot of use from 160 to 220 yard range depending on conditions, the 2 only gets used very occasionally. They are very versatile and can be hit low or high much easier than other similar styled clubs.
The 2, 3 and 4 irons i've used in the past were always a struggle but i'm very happy with the MP Fli Hi clubs i now have and they don't feel out of place with my mp68s.

The other thing to remember is that it's a grain flow forged iron with zero bounce, so it does suit the player who likes to shape a longer iron and still wants some feedback, but might struggle with a standard long iron. I think Mizuno created a gem of a club when it designed these.
It's the perfect addition to any MP set.

There are some great deals on golfbidder at the moment.

I have the 3 iron and it is my "go to" club when i'm not driving well.
It doesn't go exceptionally high but it does fly.

Aye. This is true.

I suspect you've got to give the ball a good spank to make the best of these clubs.
