My Motocaddy battery is on the way out after 2 plus years, it's struggling to make 18 holes, and on full power is still slower than my walking pace. I'm looking to replace it and seeking a good alternative. Of course I can get a replacement Motocaddy battery approx £69, I'm also considering the lithium version with "5 year" warranty. Not sure on this option, whilst the battery is considerably lighter, and charges quicker, the "5 year" warranty is not quite what it says, so cost of ownership over 5 years is still more expensive than buying a regular one every two years or so.....

Aside from theses two options, anyone know of any alternative batteries that fit the Motocaddy?

I bought a 36 holes battery from Clubhouse golf for less than the 18 hole Motocaddy battery. The idea being that although I don't play 36 it'll last a whole lot longer before it diminishes in performance... 4yrs later and I've just retired the trolley(over 6yrs old) and the battery is still going strong.

Agree with the above.

I would aim for a 27 hole battery, which will easily do 18 on any given day and give you additional capacity for degradation over time.

27 hole Yuasa batteries can be had on eBay for 50-60 including cables and a battery bag - well worth checking out.

Only other thing to say, is have you checked/tested your charger? Often they give out well before the battery especially of you leave them plugged in and switched on. Might be worth getting a new battery and charger in the long run?!?

I know you said aside from the lithium but...
Get a Litepower. Yes they are expensive, but they weigh nothing, charge in no time, go for well over 36 holes and I have had mine for 2 years, playing 3 times a week and it's brilliant, so I believe the 5 year guarantee, which makes it very cost viable. I wouldn't want to go back to lead / acid now.
