Most unusual shot you have ever faced?

On the back of the left handed club thread, I wondered what the most unusual shot is you have ever faced. Left handed, stuck up a tree, behind a wall etc?

And most importantly, did you pull it off?

Pitched off the clubhouse balcony onto the 18th green, sadly they made the balcony OOB the following week haha as it wasnt the last time I drove it there!

I've played a couple of good ones.
once I was next to a tree and couldn't play the ball - so I played it backwards with one hand - 7 iron through the gap and rolled up to the green.

although not all success stories

once I was in the tree's saw a gap - felt like seve - hit the tree and it come back and hit me in my nuts! OWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

A recent one I can remember is last week on our par 3 seventh. It is on a raised green with a steep bank on the right hand side. Tee shot missed green and I thinned next one to the back of the green. Ball was lying against the wire fence at the back in thick grass. Only way out was chop it out away from hole and around a bank on the opposite side and hoped it would roll back on to the green.

Couldn't have executed it better as it finished four feet from the pin. Feeling pretty pleased as I went to knock it in for a bogey only to find it wasn't my ball.

I stood, I contemplated however in the end decided that I wasn't going to destroy both palm tree and club when I'd probably fail to get anywhere near it anyway!! Took my medicine and ploughed on!

i had a impossible shot from under some trees meaning i i had to hit it low and it would never hold the green.
i said to my mates "watch this, I'm going to hit it through the green and use the bridge to rebound the ball back onto the green" i pulled it off. it looked like it was with surgical precision but it was a fluke as i full on bladed it

probably had mine last week.... hitting a 2nd shot into the green I carved it off right towards a big bush that was OB.... so I stuck down another and hit the middle of the green. Got to the bush and there was 1 branch of it that was hanging in bounds.....and sure enough my ball was sitting on top of said branch.

thought I'd use driver as I had most chance of hitting the ball and getting it out....it didnt go well.

In a 4bbb match last night I ended up stuck behind two columns of the greenside 'temple' on our 13th hole. Didn't have a clear shot to the green at all (too close) so tried a hit and hope ricochet off one of the adjacent columns. Gave one of my opponents a fright, not the green sadly...
