i liked the bit where you have got woosie faldo etc watching him and the quote by Tigger at the end

He was a bit of an odd fellow was Moe. If he'd been around now he'd almost certainly been diagnosed as autistic such was his mental state. I recall reading a story about him, he got a tip from a top pro and set about hitting a thousand balls or so down the practice range which blistered his hands to such a degree he was forced to withdraw from the tournement.

Also many anecdotes about him running away from autograph seeking fans, him putting into bunkers (during competitions) just so he could try and get up and down. He also didn't have a bank account until he retired, and that was only when Titleist found out that he'd been using (and paying for) their balls his entire career, so Titleist paid him his endorsement fees as a sort of pension.

He's actually a lot more well known in the US and (unsurprisingly) Canada.

Quite a few people actually study and replicate\teach his swing. I think they call it natural golf, or something similar.

Moe is one of these characters spoken of in revered tones by many swing gurus. He is a legend, and that includes the meaning of legend as someone about whom there is a set of tales which includes both some fact and some fiction.

Not sure if I believe he was really autistic, sounds more like personality disorder.

if that's the recipe for the jamaican nail, it's rather nice
(can't play the video at work - IT gestapo)

can't remember the video, watched it last year, did it include the stuff about his brief appearance on the PGA tour? about where he was virtually hounded out because he was seen as not being suitable.

Moe Norman ... Genius - but never tested so will never go down as one!!!!
I found out about this bloke a couple of years ago, and it is a great story (Fact or Fiction). Having met a few people who saw him play in his day, they say he was better than Hogan!
His ideas are so simple, but if you try to do it, it is quite difficult to replicate.
The making his hands bleed story was at the Masters.
55 Canada Tour victories, 17 holes in one, 33 course records.
I know that most of this is in Canada which is / was not the best tour in the world, but still quite impressive.
