Evening All,

Apologies, this is another "what is the best xxxx/gear thread".

Wondering if anyone has any experience of the Mizuno Stability shoes or the Puma Cell or Harpia (both look the same to me?).

Tried both on and really comfortable but wondering if anyone has a more longer term view on these? i.e. do they stay waterproof/comfortable etc?

Had enough of adidas shoes, so comfortable but fall to pieces and not waterproof in the slightest....

Thanks in advance.

I used to have the Mizuno MP golf shoes, but unfortunately 3 pairs split in the same place and ended up having to have a pair of Adidas again.

Not the stability ones I know, but as comfortable as the MP`s were I could not recommend them.

Not sure if this helps really. Sorry.

Hate to say this but if you want stability then the FJ XPS-1 is going to be the daddy. Extraordinarily solid feeling of being anchored in the backswing. Fit perfectly out of the box too. I admit the price is an issue but if you stretch to them they are very. very good

Thanks MG,

The only review I could find online of the Mizuno shoes wasn't positive but was only one as I say.

Really like the look of the Puma ones if I'm honest, just not very many people have either to gather opinion!

Thecraw and Monty_Brown and some others wear Puma. Not sure if they are the same ones you are talking about though.

Puma shoes I have worn in the past have always been comfortable. The problem I had was finding local stockists.

Just bought some mizunos mps online but they haven't been delivdered yet. I take it the splitting is a common problem?

I'm a huge Puma shoe fan and I've never once had an issue or problem. Also the most waterproof shoes I've owned, I've had 3 pairs and also have two new pairs in boxes waiting for summer or links golf trips.

Mizuno make some superb running shoes so they are also going to be well made and up for the task. I suggest you try some on or go with your gut feeling!

tried some pumas on sunday and although comfy something just didnt feel right about them, fitting was good, and the leather looked like it has some sort of clear overcoating... maybe if the right design comes out but they just didnt do it for me in real life, defo shoes for the younger player with a radical walldrobe.... and craw

I agree with you on the running shoes, and other equipment too, but their golf shoes..............

Sorry, took three rounds to wear in and were very comfortable; but for one pair to split is unlucky, two is an unfortunate coincidence, three tells me there is an issue somewhere along the line.

I might well have freddie, but not had issues with Adidas or Puma shoes before. For some reason the Mizunos went in the same place three times.

Maybe I am just a freak though:o:D

Puma shoes are the shizzle.... that means good.

Get Puma cell fusion for style comfort and quality.... or get another brand and look as boring as everyone else.

I've got the Mizunos and think they're great, very waterproof & fit nicely.

I didn't like the looks at first but they grow on you, no issues with cracking etc which normally happens to my shoes.

I have the stability shoe and I think it is a really good shoe.

It took about 5 rounds to break in which were a bit uncomfortable but I find them really supportive.

Added 10 yards to my drives!!:)

Thanks all for the comments.

Homer - with another little one on the way dropping the best part of £200 on a pair of shoes is not on the agenda! These are both good shoes at a good price at the moment.

Probably going to get the Puma's, heard nothing but good things about them and they were very comfortable when I tried them on.

Had a lot of pairs of Mizuno footy boots which were always really good which is why I thought about them.

I still fancy a pair of xps-1's, only problem is selling the idea to my wife!

Any ideas?

:-)

Tell her MikeH is having another clear out of shoes and they were a freebie!!?

Wherever you buy them from, make sure the staff in the shop don't show your "purchase history" to your wife!:)
