Tried the MX100s yesterday & hit them nice & straight & was going to order some today, but its the pros day off, so I had a look at the mizuno website & im alittle confused. Mx100s are stated for very high to mid handicap & the mx200s for low to high handicap. I fall in the very high handicap but whats the difference between very high & high handicap. my thoughts are am I wasting money on the 100s & going to need to change them as the mx200s cover a bigger range but might be as easy to hit.

I would say the MX100s would be best suited as they get the ball airborne faster and are aimed to 12+ hcp players, so its not like a 4 months time you will need to change them. Why make the game harder just so you have better looking irons in the bag you could struggle with?

mmm Natalie, Parmo I love you

Sorry Gubog, I got distracted. I got fitted for the 100' last year in early winter. The pro who fitter me didn't tell me what club I was hitting or how much the set would cost (i gave him my budget) he just kepot giving me clubs and saying hit this, hti this etc. The best club for me was the 100's and they were the cheapest. I played off about 12 when I was fitted and now I'm off 10. I'd give these a great rating and if the suit you then get them. I think you can read too much into things. If they are good for you then get them.

I stand to be corrected but the MX100's are aimed as more of a game improver (think Burner, Cally X22 etc) whereas the MX200 are in my opinion aimed at anyone between 20 and 9

I know a number of golfers on here (Smiffy, HTL in particular) who swear by them. I guess it depends a lot on whether you want the higher ball flight and marginally more forgiveness of the 100's or if you think you have the capability (and the time and desire to practice) to get much lower whereby the MX200 may be a better longer term option. You don't say whether you've hit the 200's yet and suggest that might be the best starting point. If you get on with them why not go back to your pro and ask for his advice

If you can afford the 200's I would go with those.
They are a fairly easy club to hit (sometimes ) and the fact that they are forged (whereas the 100's are cast) enables you to have the loft and lies altered should the need arise at sometime in the future.
I'll not got down the route of "forged are better than cast" 'cos I personally can't tell the difference.
But put it this way....if you have definitely decided that Mizuno's are for you and buy the 100's I can almost guarantee that at sometime in the future you will think "I wish I'd bought the 200's". I don't think you would regret buying the 200's at anytime in the future.

The pro at Wellshurst has got the 200s in his bag.

I agree that they're neither of them the best looking clubs, but they're not that pig ugly either. And if you can hit them, you'll soon get used to looking at them at address.

Haven't tried them out, but when I was looking at them in AG I thought the 100s had a much bigger hitting area than the 200s.

But either way, go with what feels good, and easy to hit. The Mizuno GI club is still way better than most other manufacturers, and it aint badly priced either.
