Mizuno Irons

I hit some M53's the other week and loved them.

Looking down at such a straight and sleek club head was very nice.

I'm now looking to offload my G20's to buy a mates 5-PW iron set of M53's which he only wants £200 for and has had them only 6 months!

I've got the 53s
Best irons I've ever had, and I've been through a fair few sets ( I was a sufferer of shinyitus for a few years)
I initially had them with s300 shafts but I couldn't feel the weight of the clubhead much and they just didn't feel right, so I changed to the Dynalite.

Theres no doubt Mizuno make great irons, but if you're looking for a change do yourself a favour and try the I20s, Best iron I've hit in years!

Best clubs I've ever owned, bar none. Lovely to look down at, beautifully made. These are definatley a blade, or "players" club.

If you're looking for forgiveness, JPX 800/825 range is where it's at

Strictly speaking, these are not blades. I believe they were marketed as cut muscle back?

Ironically, sometimes poster, Sundance from my club has just contacted me to say he's off to the national fitting centre at Burhill next weekend for a Mizuno fitting. They don't make a bad club from GI through to blades. I think the simple answer to the OP is go out and hit as many as you can, ideally under the gaze of a pro and with a monitor so you can see which performs best

Mizuno make the best irons in my opinion (not that I've tried many other brands, or any other Mizuno models other than those that I own, which came direct from good old ebay).

I'd really like to try the MP-32 though, they look lovely amd by all accounts are an excellent club.

I think any one who blinkers themselves to one brand is missing out. I don't get the mizzy love in. Yes, they make nice kit, but so do others. I do own a mizzy 6 iron, it's no better than my titleist zb, or my Nike pro combo. In fact, I'd take the Nike over the other two. Just the way it is.

If I was going to buy something from mizuno, I'd still get Nike.

Its a confidence thing, would you buy a kitchen appliance from an unknown foreign brand or a top main brand you have had before and know make good appliances?

I would not get any confidence looking down on a nike or a titliest or a taylor made iron until I had built up some trust with it. I can look down on pretty much any mizuno and instantly feel at home with it.

In the end all brands churn out generally similar gear so I doubt they are missing out, you can play just as well with pretty much any make or model that roughly suits your needs. Its the bit between your ears you have to convince the most and that takes something much more!

Absolutely nothing wrong with Mizuno irons, I used to use MP60's but a simple piece of advice for you.

Don't discount any other brand without trying them first, there are loads of good clubs out there.

Some other 'players' clubs you might like to consider:
Ping i20 and S56
Any of the Titleist range
Callaway x forged
Any of the niche makers like Orka/Wishon/Snake Eyes/Muira/Vega

Why have you got your heart set on Mizunos anyway?

Why have you got your heart set on Mizunos anyway?

Cracking question! Needs to be answered, if it cannot OR because you have been "told" to get they by a friend then you need to take a long hard look at other brands. When you feel that trust you will know it! I tried a Mizuno in a shop and felt connected straight away, the Pings felt dead and lifeless as did pretty much everything else.

You might find however that another brand gives you that "feel".

Im with Murph a bit here ( except the Nike love )
I totally appreciate that Mizuno make very good quality irons, but I fail to get the mass 'love-in' that their users constantly profess to, no other brand users seem to do this, Mizuno users seem to swoon at the sight of a Mizuno pic that gets posted, the obsessive 'Blue mizuno' thing too................

To the OP
Loadsa great gear out there, defo something to suit u, but DONT rule anything out before trying, be open minded

And Besides......................

KZG FORGED Irons are far superior to Mizuno...........:ears:

no other brand users seem to do this

I think you will find it probably just seems that way as the mizuno fans seem very vocal about their choice. I think what I said before applies to anyone, be them Ping users, TM or anyone. Once you have trust built up in a brand their clubs become easier to hit, until you have that trust its all down to first impressions.

I am always open. I hit Cleveland at FoA Nd had always ignored them as an iron brand. They are now on my list. Think I am down to ping, cally, TM, Mizzy and Cleveland to try before buying. I could never just choose one. How do you know it's the best for your game.

get nike clubs , they are the best , TW cant be wrong , dont bother with the other brands , get the blades , you may not hit them good but they lookl good in your bag mate and you look the part , now the truth , try all brands , keep open mind good luck
