I really don't want to hit some of the newer mizuno irons - i love the look of them and although my handicap is apparently far too high for them the whole better player thing is a bit of a myth I think - they are after all small bits of metal at the end of a metal tube - you can either hit a golf ball or not surely?!
I am going to splash out on an old demo iron for something like an mp52 and see how a 6 iron goes.

I have an MP 58 you can have, I see you are about a two miles from my house.
Some of it is that the head size gets smaller and smaller as the better player iron become more and more better playeri so you have less iron to hit the little white ball with.
MP me if you want the MP 58.

I have MP63's, hit them just fine. I had MP32's before, hit them fine too.
Iron and wedge play are the strong points of my game mind you, its the woods where I suffer.

Mate, if you're genuinely interested in a more bladed set of Mizxy irons, then see if you can find a decent set of MP32's or 33's and save yourself some money. You won't find much better irons on the market. Beautiful to look at and more forgiving than John Terry's Missus.

Looking to book up the fitting as soon as I can, was up the range today they have the swing DNA gizmo, to look at swing speeds etc

Make sure you ask to try other shafts other than the 3 the swing DNA recommends.
The shafts in my 63's weren't given as an option according to the swing DNA but gave the best results.
Remember, the swing DNA is a good start to a fitting, not the be all and end all :thup:

You are spot on there Dean, the MP Raw wedges are superb. As are the original MP-T and MP-R wedges (not the numbered versions).
Been on the look out for a MP-T in 47 degrees for ages as regretted selling mine.
Loving my Mizzies, its a load of tosh their only for low handicappers, I'm striking the ball better than I ever did with my Ping G20's. With less height my carry distance has increased significantly so I'm a full convert to the Mizuno gang :thup:

I think with the MP range there is a fine line between the irons that are easy to hit well and the ones that aren't.
I don't believe there is much point in comparing a set of MP32/52/53/63 to a set of MP92/68/69s as it's night and day.
The MP52 for example (my clubs) are designed with pocket cavities in the long irons to allow for that forgiveness on slightly off centre hits. Now, while they are forgiving to a degree, they will still give feedback if you don't catch it right.
Compare that to the 69s for example, which have no cavity and are very thin from about half an inch up the back then you hit one of those slightly off and it goes nowhere (and you have a stung pair of hands).
So, while I agree that there are MP irons out there for the mid/high handicap golfer, there are equally MPs that are definitely for the better player.
