OK, I am not a fan of any aspects of the congu handicaps system as whole but I can understand, for example, 7/8th handicap for better ball comps i.e. you get a cut in the handicap because you are taking the better score of the two players.
I am playing in a mixed foursomes comp and the rules are 50% of the difference of the combined handicaps i.e. add the handicaps of each pair, deduct the lower number and we get 50% of what remains. Can anyone explain the rational in that? Why when there is just one ball and one score (i.e. it’s not a better ball) do we only get 50% of the handicap?
