Oh dear!!!

I've not looked yet, and I'm sure you have lovely nice clubs but to post what is in affect a classified ad on a golf forum like this is pretty much suicide.

Know your audience... we are unforgiving ba**ards.

Let the abuse commence me thinks...

I sense an influx of posts featuring "**" in the middle of the words!

But seriously it seems like there is yet another duff site blocking up bandwidth with a whole bunch of overpriced clubs that are going to stay in the knock off garage they currently reside in for a bit longer!

I'm sorry but your chemistry is all wrong. Or are you the lab experiement that went wrong? If you want to come on here promoting your website there are certain criteria you need to observe

1) Make sure it is a decnt site
2) Make sure it is competitively priced
3) make sure you know your market

In your case it is cheap tacky and unsolicted advertising. Get a life and go through the proper channels to advertise your naff product. How would you like it if we all popped up on your website and put loads of unsolicted information onto it.

Do you go into pub etc and barge into the conversations of others and basically say "stop what you are doing and come and look at how good I am." I'm sure if you tried doing so it would be a painful and bruising experience.

Go away and play with your potions on a site that is populated by lab rats like Todays Golfer

Hey everybody please calm down.
I have obviously misjudged this site and apolagies all round.
I was only really looking to place a link to boost a google rating.
I didnt realise that this forum was so different to, as you put it "the lab rat site" and other similar forums.

Can someone please advise on whether it is possible to withdraw a post as it has obviously caused offence and that was certainly not my intention.

Thank you for your honesty. Sadly we have been infested with a plague of spammers recently on all the various boards on the forum. We are not against people putting websites up per se (although I guess it is freebie advertising) but what really winds a number of people up (me included) is when we get first timers coming on and plugging.

If you really want to get people to view your site you should make the effort to join in some of the topics first and then mention it to gauge raction before putting any links up.

I don't know whether you are here as a businessman flogging his venture or as a golfer. If it is the latter try sticking around and joining in. We can be friendly and you may actually win a few people round and persuade them to pay your site a visit.

PS - Todays Golfer are always plugging Ping gear so get on there and you could be onto a winner!!!

Thanks I will do that and apolagies again!

Next post will be about solving my hook, No websites will be mentioned.

This was a worthwhile exercise though as the abuse has highlighted that i need to jazz the site up a bit.

You see it's winter and we get a little tetchy when we cant get out and smack some balls. Now, if you want to join in the forum then all well and good, but at this time of year we're like a pack of wolves waiting for someone like yourself. If you can take the heat now you'll be okay in another 100 posts or so.

Alchemy, posting links of forums is not the best way to do SEO.
I haven't looked at the site yet, but the first step would be making sure you have relevent title and header tags, and making sure you have appropriate body text.

Backlinks can help, but they have to be from the right sources. Backlinking from spamming forums can have a short term effect, but isn't a sustainable way.

Another good way to get started would be looking at some google PPC advertising. It will cost you, but its not expensive.

thanks surefire.

Ive got my tags, descriptions etc pretty nailed down and i am on the 1st page of google with very generic searches like

used ping irons
s59 irons

Even before my site was lambasted on here i realised it was not up to top standard but i have had to do it myself and i have ZERO experience.

In the very near future i will have a professional site done. A friend who is a very good web designer said he will do me one for £1000.

does anyone know whether that is a good price or if you can recommend anyone then post here or email me at
