Keep thinking about getting a 2nd Hand one of these (the BMW one)? think i must of watched the Italian job too many times...

For an 04 / 05 ish one though they do look a bit pricey, and it wouldn't be perfect as there are 5 of us, 2nd car though.

Any help / thoughts / experiences appreciated.

My daughter (42, single and should know better) has bought a Mini Countryman and has a personalised number plate. I have disowned her.

BMW Mini's stopped being cool when I saw an 80 year old Granny driving one a cpuple of years back.
Always thought they were expensive for what you get.

The wife had a Cooper S for a few years. OK car but I rarely dove it. I absolutely got sick of the run flat tyres. they would go down if you hit anything like a pot hole and the first few times it meant a new tyre at about £130 but later the tyre company would clean the rim and reseal them ... but what a pain!!!

i know someone who has the mini cooper s and to be honest there is more rattles on it than a 35 year old cortina would i have one no thanks

Just to change the tone a little...

I bought my wife one at Xmas. She loves the car. I've driven it and think it's a good fun car to be honest. Looks good, handles the road exceptionally and is quite nippy too.

Downsides are the tyres, because they're run flats you do feel the road more than other cars and they can be expensive.
But if your like my wife who doesn't drive any further than 15 miles from home in it then we put normal tyres on the front recently as I can always go and sort the car out if she has any problems.

If I'm honest I do like the cars. If it wasn't for the golf clubs I'd be tempted to drive one. I do think the clubman looks odd like.

I used to have a 53 plate Cooper. I loved it. Was great to drive and stuck to the road like a go kart. It's true about the rattles in some but not all, and if it's that bad just turn the radio up. haha.

I would definitely consider getting another one. Also my mum has had hers for 10 years now and never had any major problems. She is in the process of getting a new one.

My mate had a Cooper S Works. It was okay but the suspension was rock hard. Not really that fast either.

I think the Minis are good cars though.

As an alternative, my wife has the new Fiat 500 and it is brilliant. No good for 5 of you though. And of course, i wouldn't be seen dead in it! :D
