Trying a diff approach for this weeks medal as I usually play in morning with same guys this week I'm playing at tea time with 2 strangers to see if it makes me concentrate any better will try anything to break the run of adding point one at last 5 medals I've played

Good luck this week, sometimes a change from routine can do you good.
How's the practicing going btw?

Could well work for you. It will give you a chance to sober up before you play :D :D

Seriously though, it should help you. If you are playing with mates, there is usually a lot of banter and trying to out do each other. With strangers you can concentrate when you need to and play your own game.

As mentioned in another thread, I played with two youngsters in a medal on Saturday - a 1 and 8 h/cap. I hadn't played with them before and was a little concerned that my dodgy game would affect them. I needn't have worried. They were as good as gold even after my 1st three disasterous holes. I won the honour on the 5th and neither of them managed to get it back until the par 5 13th where they were both able to reach the green in 2 (driver and 6/7 iron ).

What I'm saying is that I managed to raise my game as I was out of my normal knock it about with mates 3/4 ball mind set.

As it happened, I managed to beat both of them on the h/cap and beat the 8 h/cap gross :) :)

Well think I just missed out on buffer zone as had 34 pts with 4 blobs when does it stop being unlucky with putter and become [****] putting ( I lipped out twice and horseshoed out another twice in the first 6 holes ) ?? One of the guys I played with was a dopleganger for Peter andrie with only half a tan he played of 7 but shot a 1 over par total the other guy played of 17 but smashed his tee shots past his mate with a 3 wood and had a pretty good score until the 14th where he never finished any of the last 5 holes But biggest problem was the speed of play obviously the better players spend more time lining up shots so played last hole in near darkness coming of the course at 9.55 couldn't even go for a pint as was starting work at 4am this morning
