After thinking about it for a good year, I'm possibly joining Merrists Wood golf club. It's near Woking. Any played there? Any thoughts?
They have a £300 points scheme, which means I can get a handicap, play in comps & use those points across all the Crown Golf courses, so not just stuck to one place. Which suits me down to the ground!
I took the plunge last night to make the most of the off-seasons offers (which ended yesterday at 8pm!) - the course looked like it was in good condition - all greens in play & all tees in play from today.
Not only is it 10mins from my flat, but it also has a completely free to use driving range with grass bays, so that really swung it for me. Can't argue with free range practice!!

I think you must be referring to Freedom play DM. Check the small print because I'm not sure you can play other Crown Golf courses on that scheme (unlike full 5 or 7 day membership).
Unless it has changed a lot since I played there (a few times) don't bother with Traditions. Pyrford and Blue Mountains are worthwhile though.
Bite the bullet and join West Hill. After thinking about it for a good year, I'm possibly joining Merrists Wood golf club. It's near Woking. Any played there? Any thoughts?
