maybe a stupid question are you allowed to take divot on practice swing? played with a guy today 2 practice swings 2 massive divots looked like air balls to me at first but after 10 holes of it realized it was his routine, bet the green keepers love that?

If he was a guest at my club I would tell him no bother , And if he is a member I tell no bother either , If he likes digging then do it in his own garden ........................put the guy right or you may get the blame as you are playing with him

Tell him the sign saying please replace your divots applies to him as well as everyone else. If that doesnt work ask him how he would react if he hits one down the middle and finds his ball in a massive un repaired divot? If still not tell him that his etiquette is awful and that you wont be playing with him again

Pleas can you be careful with your practice swings? Its poor form to take divots like that unless you are playing a shot. You need to pick them all up and put them back as well.

Most people would possibly be a bit more to the point but that's a polite way

I take pork chop divots will all my irons. at times I just start walking to retrieve it as soon as Ive hit just to speed up a bit.

If you are the shy type then write him a letter , leave it on his bag or car window , if not pick his ball up and put it in the deepest divot you can find and see what he says then come clean , be easier to just tell him .....................EYG
