Meant to say 28. that was a typo.
However, you wont find a single one that tolerates a typo, so buck up.
Are you for real?

Perhaps I should have accompanied that with a smiley face?!
If you find someone on here who can read I'll give you a tenner.

Hopefully I'll have more time to get some comps played over the next month or so to get my H'cap down to mid-teens when I can find some consistency.
Do i take it from this you are not in a club & have no handicap ..?? as for been embarrased to tell people . who are you playing golf for ? you or other people .. what are you playing golf for ?? enjoyment or show ?? Have you ever played a stroke play comp off back tees with a score card in your hand ?? golf is a past time & is open to all levels .. so long as your handicap is honest & true reflection of your game then fine .. no matter what the number saysif i coudn't get down to 18 within the first 6 month of joining a club i would give the game up all together. i would feel embarassed to tell anyone that i played golf and my handicap was above it.
"Welcome, get a h/cap and get it down to max 18, no-one should get more than 1 stroke per hole."
i am a member of a club and of course i've played a comp off back tees. my handicap is 3 and only took 1 year to get there with no lessons i started on 12.
if you cant play to a decent standard after a few month then you shoudn't be on the course. all high handicappers do is hold everyone else up and are the cause of slow play

I liked this comment.
I saw it (I think) for what it was, a challenge more than a dig.
Everyone should aim to get to 18.
the pros make a living out of it so every single shot can cost thousands of pounds, i think i'd take my time then.
but from what i've seen its always the high handicap player holding the groups up. they should start a rule at clubs that if you cant play to a handicap of 18 and no more then you cant join. simples
