Lost 6 and 5 on our home course. One was 64 the other probably older, they were probably about 4 under gross better ball.

The thing is on 5 of the first 6 holes, one would slice/pull it into the clag, the other straight down the middle (it's as if they were taking it in turns). They only had 1 bogey, loads of up and downs, 1 eagle, 3 birdies in 13 holes.

We were both crap, I was playing to handicap for 11 holes, my partner wasn't!!

Nice fellas, cracking players, always came in for the other. They have been of 2 and 3, but most drives were level or up to 30 yards past mine, and I regularly hit 230-260.

We lost 4 out of the first 6 holes (we had shots on two of them), luckily halved the next 5, otherwise it would have been very embarassing.

They were. all specced up, R11's, skycaddies. They've won a few seniors opens also.

Their bogey was a 3 putt, which had to up a tier, large break, and it still lipped out. Whether 70 out or 225 out, one of them hit the green each time. 500 yard par 5, on in two, single 10 foot outt for eagle (a birdie would have won the hole).

It shows you how far short you are in your game.

Nothing wrong with it - except precision! Matchplay Pairs, as per title of thread, is more precise though - still not absolute though.

What is a better term for a team of two in matchplay?

The one I don't get is 4BBB in a better ball 'pairs comp', when it is the better ball from 2 people (not 4).
