I would take Augusta every time because it so inaccessible to anyone as opposed to me pitching up to (virtually) any Open course with my green fee and saying to the next group mind if I join you....
Watching The Masters on TV has always been a highlight for me personally, however, the BBC for reasons best known to themselves are using "personalities" instead of former professional golfers to comment on the tournament. I am absolutely certain the vast majority of real golfing viewers would prefer to have the pros. rather than the likes of Gary Linacre and Bruce Forsyth. Your opinions please.
It was best when it was Rider and Ken Brown together. I think Brown or Torrance can co-present but aren't front guys. I'd like to see someone like Gabby Logan (she has been known to swing a club) but sadly things like the Masters are viewed by the BBC as thank you's for their big names which is why you'll often see Alan Hansen out there as a thank you for Match of the Day.
Basically if you have an interest in a sport and you present for the Beeb they will get you out to the showpiece event
