Just watching the matchplay and Goosen v Colsaerts on the last tee. Colsaerts smashes one long and Roe's going on about how he's up there with Quiros as a long hitter. He then says goosen must be a little shocked and that in no way will he get near Colsaerts drive and he's up against it. Boom , Goose smashes it a good 30-40 yards passed Colsaerts ball and i'm peeing myself laughing. Roe says he must have got a huge bounce...knob

was watching the edfors match and roe was slagging edfors short game saying how bad it was step up the big man to knock it stiff ,what a knob cant stand him slagging guys of who've won more than he ever did

Roe is full of his own self importance. He constantly has a go at players from the comfort of the Sky Sports studio.

Comes across as a bitter man.

Agree with all of this, he does seem particularly bitter, if not a little jealous.

I find him okay in the studio but when he's in the box he comes over as a right self important prick who never ever hit a poor shot and definitely never ever hit a bad short short.....and here was me thinking he only played in about a dozen majors if lucky and was top ten in Europe once....

Add to that his dull moaning voice and you may have guessed I think the man is a knob too.

Being honest I find all of the European Tour coverage to be shocking I miss it when they used to show Nick Faldo and the rest of the Golf Channels coverage for the PGA tour right now Butch Harmon is Skys only saviour

I'm not sure you can say it is poor. At least you get to watch the tour week in and week out and yes the quality of the commetary and studio guests can be hit and miss but would you rather have that or not watch anything at all?

I trhink Roe maybe does resent the success some of these players have and the fact that middle of the field guys (as he was) are still richly rewarded. On the other side he has a reputation as a short game guru and so maybe he needs to be working on establishing that reputation as Haney, Pelz, Pugh have all down and attracting more top players to him. That was just maybe he can bask in some reflected glory
