So why spend more than 200 million a year on them...?
They must work or the Shareholders would have something to say......
Because people still purchase goods because of them regardless of trust.

I read an article in Golf Illustrated about TM when they were world number 1 OEM, then Callaway came with BB's and took the world by storm. They hated that and their focus is to be No1 which they are now.
Its not a case of trusting them, as their maybe some truth in it, even tho it's slight, but it's about we the consumer being susceptible to their marketing ploys. In the next 2wks my bag will consist of nothing but small individual custom fit manufacturers who don't have the money to compete with advertising against the OEMs.
Also got told that very very few people are buying the 430 SLDR and no one on tour is using one
I can understand why fewer people are buying the Retail 430 ones - apart from the lack of supply. I'd heard the 430 was the one all the Tour guys wanted, but again slow to supply.
Just did a check of the top 36 at The Masters. Only 6 SLDRs (and a Burner 2) so no not a great week for TM imo. 4 460s, 2 430s (Senden and Gallacher).
Of the other guys I know are TM, Clarke has Jetspeed; Garcia and Donald have 460 SLDRs and Hanson has 430 SLDR.
Not convincing either way, but 'no one on tour' is complete rubbish!
Like i said - what i got told
Perhaps you might consider checking occasionally! Wasn't a Sales guy perchance?
Because people still purchase goods because of them regardless of trust.
Some might, I certainly wont.
The boss of the company has admitted on TV that his main aim is to get people to buy clubs they dont need and has now admitted that at a GM fitting his people lied about the advantages their new club brought.
Add on to that I have seen several clubs from them measured properly and they have been nowhere near the numbers stated on the bottom of the club/in their spec sheets.
As I say rather you than me, but seems theres plenty out there happy to fall for their lies, or think they are ignoring them and know better
Or a great deal who just take it for what it is
A hobby that we are just playing for enjoyment and using clubs that help them achieve that enjoyment factor - regardless of any numbers or marketing
The clubs could say 50,000 degrees - what difference does it make what is at the bottom of the club ?
This should be peoples hobby - ( bar the pros ) enjoy it.
The boss of TM's main aim is to sell his product - just like any other boss of any other company
Each to their own Phil, just not a fan of buying things off companies where as far as Im concerned the boss is basically admitting his company lies to the consumer
So if TM brought out a putter or driver or iron that massively improved your game you wouldnt use it because they lied about why they painted their clubs white for a year or so ?
interesting study from lastl year about the main OEM guys and lofts .... to be honest few of them come out very well in terms of loftsAdd on to that I have seen several clubs from them measured properly and they have been nowhere near the numbers stated on the bottom of the club/in their spec sheets.

Oh the irony!
So the lessons in love from the GM fitting day were based on fashion and not an actual visual enhancement. Will it be running in the family for the rest of the white headed revolution. Sorry but can't resist a good Level 42 pun
