Did anyone else watch the program last ?

Nice game start with some great moments but it's going to get very gritty

Highly recommend it

Watched it but not that fussed. No different to any other of these fly on the wall documentaries about army recruits especially in their first few weeks. I hope it will improve once the sheer intensity of the course gets going and shows just how tough it is to get that elusive green beret

I watched it and will definitely watch again. The guy with eczema was genuinely gutted, felt for him as he wanted to go through the process as it seemed (cliché alert) he was at a crossroads. The transformation from 'boy to man' will be good to see. as will all the blags they learn to get one over their major :D

I was in the armoured corps but had to do my basic with the royal green jackets. It was the hardest 15 weeks of my life. Apparently infantry basic is a walk in the park compared to RMC so gotta be worth a watch

Watched it as one of my sons has a friend who is an instructor at Lympstone.

Confirmed for me that I could never have been a member of the military nor can I understand why anyone would.

But

I am eternally grateful that there are and always have been those that would.

It was all a bit hammed up and toned down for the camera's.

The thing that got me, they had bloody quilts.............Quilts in basic........That is a joke, and the fat corporal...I bet he's regular with all those Weetabix.

The training will get harder but its the tests that define the recruits to earn the green lid. Good luck to em all. Takes me back, and how funny seeing how tired some of them were, and the giggling on inspections. I remember on ours the beds got flipped over, kit thrown out of the windows into the mud, then given an hour to get it all in order and dry ready for another inspection. Horrible at the time, great and funny to look back on.

Those guys will make friends on a whole different level to friends most people make, and the humour they develop is twisted and so funny.

Heard it billed as the worlds toughest military training... can't be right?! Just looked like a lot of shouting and throwing stuff on floor.

I watched it and thought it was great

That part where the lad couldn't get up the small muddy bank after they got there rifles for the first time

Thats just the initial phase they all have to do - the real stuff happens from now

The coverage so far is just the initial "breaking in stage" when they went straight into hard core training they had too many drop outs. They do the foundation training first to break them in gently. Believe me it will get hard.

I thought that was funny as well, what hope has he got of getting up a mountain after a 10 mile hike :D

I only did the first 28 days of navy training. It was almost identical but we passed the inspection for a day off after two weeks. It's one of my biggest regrets leaving there so I know exactly what the guys are feeling.

Was similar to the P Company program about the Paras 1know as ago
Interesting to watch and yes it will get tougher.... Lots :)

Working with an ex Para who was filmed for said Programme, says its as weak as you know what.

Once the cameras were off they were beasted he says. Nothing like what was ever shown.
