Anyone in haulage might care to help me?

Looking for a very rough steer of how a lowloader hire for hauling a 21t excavator is calculated. Is it per mile or per hour basis or something else?

If I wanted to haul this excavator from Aberdeen to near Oban, roughly 200 miles one way, 400 miles return, what would I expect to pay for the lowloader (lorry and driver) hire roughly ex VAT?

Not sure if it needs to be escorted by a van on some roads or not for width?

Thanks

I'll ask the guy I work for how they do it, certainly know a 20 tonne machine does not need escorting. 12' and wider require escorts.
