Had a weird one yesterday I posted a score better than one of my existing 8 ( a much higher score fell out of the 20) but my H.I. went up rather than down.

History
I did not play from mid March to the end of October.
I have now put in more than 20 scores since starting to play again
For some time I have been on the soft cap.
This week this there was a big jump in my Low Index with it now being my H.I. at the end of October after the first game I played on my return.

My question

Has my new low index cause a recalculation of all the soft cap adjustments/restrictions made during October to now?

Probably a question for EG but thought somebody might know.

Short answer - Yes, sort of.

Actual answer - Yes but not really, as it isn't the adjustments that are being recalculated. Both the LHI and HI are recalculated overnight whenever a new score has been submitted. When the calculated HI is more than 3 above the LHI the soft cap kicks in. What is seen by the player is that when LHI increases, the effect of the cap is reduced and the HI increases. This can happen even when the posted score is better than an existing counting score due to the LHI increase being more significant.

For example, a new Score Differential of about 1 better than the score it replaces would be expected to reduce the HI by 0.1; however a LHI increase of 0.4 (with no change in the counting scores) would result in a HI increase of 0.2 for a HI in the Soft Cap zone; as such, the nett effect of the better score is a HI increase of 0.1.
