Lost golf balls

Evening all,just wondering .What is the most golf balls you have lost in a round,lost 6 in one round.Wasn't happy

Can't remember the total for the whole round but managed to lose 3 balls on one hole, needless to say I don't waste my money on new balls.

I lost five in 9 holes this year. Jacked it in and hit the practice ground. Fortunately it was just a solo round

Nine. At Fortrose & Rosemarkie on first day of our scottish trip earlier this year. Was blowing a hoolie as a crosswind nearly all the way round. Lost four in two holes.

A few recently due to the amount of leaves on the course.
Hit a stonking tee shot down the right hand side of the 18th fairway the other evening, could I buggery find it :angry:

In a medal i once lost 6, 3 in one hole. The 15th is a shot par3, a PW or 9 iron, shanked 3 in a row into the bushes next to the teeing ground.
I almost quit the game there and then.

Lost 5 balls on front 9 at Golf de Falgos in the French Pyrenees. Narrow fairways with thick forest on one side and 45° mountain side on the other. Kept my 6th ball for the rest of the round and even managed a birdy on one of the par 3`s. The only highlight of an otherwise dreadful round.

Lost 12 new balls at Salisbury, had a really bad game then popped into pro shop and bought a new box of balls. Got back to van, placed box on roof of van while putting clubs away, got about 3 miles down the road before I remembered about the balls on roof, of course, nowhere to be seen.

I lost 3 on 1 hole at Peterhead! Think the total was around 8 that day.

There's usually someone willing to sell them back to you out on the course. He must have a suit of armour to get into all the gorse bushes and retrieve the balls. Last time I saw him he had dozens all neatly tied up in wee plastic bags ready for sale

Didn't see any with Murph on the side though

Thinking about it this 6 probably isn't my highest but it is the one that sticks in the memory because it was a medal and because of how 3 of the 6 were lost?

Played at Gullane a few years back and one of our guys lost a dozen balls in the morning. They had a specific corporate logo on them so it was easy to identify them as we found them during our afternoon round

That's easy done, Murph. Almost every shot is blind at that track.

I think I've probably lost 5 or 6 in one round, but I try not to dwell on it. I know that I haven't lost a ball for ages

I've lost plenty, just don't want to remember how many...

I don't consider it a loss any more - just returning them to where I found them; almost an environmental exercise

Well two competitions in a row I've lost 2 balls off the 1st tee.

Its a short par 4 with conifers then a rail track on the right hand side. The first time was attempting to lay up with a 6 iron. The last sunday I thought to myself "I'm not going to make that mistake again...I'll go with the hybrid".

But you can always count on your playing partners for sympathy "that ones gone as well!"

I think the most i ever lost in one round was 6, when I'd only been plying a month or so and went to play the Championship course at Hawkstone park.
