Looking to change irons and then........

Similar to yourself i have managed to get down to 9 with my trusted mizuno mx17 2004 irons and also in the market for a new set.

The golf club had a callaway demo day a few weeks ago and i nearly went for the apex's after my fitting. Going to try the mizunos out in two weeks before i make a decision.

Well, that's the clubs ordered. Decided to go for the 5-PW as the loft on the 5 iron is 23° and my 5 wood is 20° (the 4 iron is 20.5°). I'll play them for a while and see if there is a gap or not.
I'm looking forward to getting them but now need to shift a few clubs to cover the cost.
Keep an eye out on the 'for sale' section ;)

Well here we are three months down the line and I have to admit to being delighted with the clubs.
The final spec was 2° flat and fitted with regular flex UST Recoil shafts. Whilst I loved my old MX-900 I do feel more confident with these, having them at 2° flat has definitely been an improvement and the distances are something else. At least a club longer (as you'd expect with the lofts) but probably more. Also I seem to be hitting more straight shots with them and certainly feel good off the face. I have to say I'm very impressed with the shafts. Light and stable and I don't even think about them being graphite. And they were only £5 extra per club over the standard graphite price,. I've not missed my old 3 & 4 irons as the 5 iron is genuinely long. I keep thinking about a hybrid but tbh the gap doesn't justify it. However I am now thinking of changing from my 52° and 58° wedges to 50° and 56° degree if I can find any going at a decent price.

Cleveland Rotex 2.0s have been going at buy one get one half price for quite a while

Was not for me, bought 4 as gifts for corporate golf days. Think only shaft option was DG wedge flex. Being forged your club pro could easily bend lie flat for a few quid.

Well I've plumped for the Cleveland 588 RTX 2.0 CB CB from Golfworx. I've gone for the 50/10 & 56/14, 2° flat with the Nippon NS-PRO 950GH shaft. That should sort out my set for years to come (fingers crossed).

Your clubs definitely know when your thinking about changing.
I was considering a new putter and borrowed a mates putter. Next round with my putter I have never holed so many putts.

Brilliant wedges! Love mine - the backspin the deliver from 30-40 yards out with a tour ball is insane
