Looking for recommendations

Still not yet got our replacement dryer…but it’s now looking like it’s going to be a heat pump one as condenser dryer options seem to be disappearing as heat pump dryers are coming down in price. I’m thinking Bosch heat pump…the entry level one would do us fine.
Condenser dryers are disappearing because of the EU energy regulations and efficiency requirements. That doesn't make them bad, just very sought after.

I'm for good energy efficiency and hence lower running cost (y)
I fully understand that. My only concern is that the extra purchase costs have to covered by the lower running costs. They also need are a lot more sensitive when it comes to user maintenance and that is leading to a shorter life span over your basic condenser dryer due to very costly repairs.
And yes, I have a Miele heat pump dryer which is very much cheaper to run than the previous Miele condenser dryer that I gave away. But we do use it regularly when the weather isn't warm and dry and I do keep very much on top of the filter cleaning especially the condenser filter.

Italy short break in May and recommendations sought for an area of Rome to stay in for three nights. Doesn’t have to be historic centre 😘
We stayed at Kolbe Hotel. Right next door to the Forum and a ten minute walk to the Colosseum. Nice 4 star hotel, got a lovely garden where you can have your dinner.

This place had availability the nights we are looking for…and though quite expensive it’s what I’d expect to pay in UK for a stay in a nice hotel in, say, Cornwall…👍 Will certainly put to my mrs as an option.

Depending on how active you feel, walking is fantastic if you are up to it. Otherwise the hop on hop off bus is a fantastic way to see a lot of the City. 👍

A walk from the colosseum down through Roman forum/ Palatine hill area is fantastic. Coming out at Emmanuel Vittorio II
From there, we went to a fantastic Irish bar called Scholars lounge for refreshments. Near there is the Campo di Fiori square. A lovely hussle a bustle flower market square with nice little restraunts. From there it Piazza Navonna and onto the Pantheon. And then the trevi fountains. From there you can make your way to the Spanish steps.

One thing we did do was when we went to the Vatican you can go onto the roof of the Vatican. Or should I say the top of the dome. Basically it’s a dome within a dome and there are one way steps going up. It gets narrow but the views are fantastic. I would have paid £20 for an ice cream when we got up there.

We booked guided tours of The Vatican, The Collosseum and Villa Borghase. They are not cheap, but you do learn so much more than just wandering about with a guide book.

We walked everywhere, best way to see a city.

We did the same at The Colosseum, think it's the only way to see some parts of it, well worth the money.

I've done this, you're right it's a superb view.

Rome is an odd City. Ave said it before for me Cities come in two groups, those you can do in a weekend, and those like Rome you cannot. We have walked miles and miles around Rome, some of re later trips knowing what is where and where is what. The hop on hop off is fantastic, but it’s where to get off and what to see. Sometimes a walking route can get you from one stop to the next.
I think Homer has a decision to make re transfer from the airport to the hotel. Ave done bus, train and Taxi. Taxi deffo the dearest but re efficient management of time. By far the best, depending where the hotel is.
