Now you're talking. I'll continue my investigation.
First things first...you need to know what capacity your washing machine is. YOu do not want a new dryer with a lower capacity as you will overpower it. Also consider how old your washing machine is, and think ahead about what it might be replaced with. Currently, 8kg is about the standard so to have a new dryer now with anything less than 8 or even 9kg is not a good thing in my mind.

I definately would not be looking at Hoover, Candy or Haier heat pump or condenser dryers. They are a poor machine, and a brand of dryer many won't touch or look at as they do nothing but give you grief and a bad rap in the owners eyes.

I second this. I have haier. It's not amazing. I mean it does a job but after year 1 it started squeaking and we had to get it repaired . All under warranty ofc

One positive of it is the lint trap is really easily accessible compared to the old Samsung (which wasn't well made)

Heat pumps are defo the way to go tho, we do a lot of washing but it serves us well. I wouldn't buy Haier again tho

So much so that when the washing machine went we didn't look at haiers

We need a new condenser dryer to replace our dead Beko. It did the job just fine so Beko or similar priced sub-£300 does us fine. Any strong pointers to other than a Beko…maybe a Hotpoint?

Don’t know anything about heat pump dryers but will have a look to see if one could work for us in the location we have our dryer.

You could take your damp stuff to one of these places.
Set one of the big tumble dryers going and plenty of time to nip across the road for a pint or go next door to put a bet on.
Gets you out of the house for a bit and a good deed done. Win-win.

We have a condenser dryer but also have a heated airer https://www.lakeland.co.uk/21736/dry-soon-3-tier-heated-airer.

If going for a condenser make sure the water tank is easy to get to. Mine is at the top of the machine.

Don't heat pump dryers take ages to dry your clothes?
Yes, they are a little slower but they are making them quicker as they become developed and more common.

The irony of your question (and I’m not digging at you, but everyone who asks/says the same) is that people complain/query the time they take to dry, yet when 20mph limits are discussed it’s always “what’s an extra 10/15/20 minutes on your journey”.
The heat pumps coming out now have extra heating to supplement the heat generated from the compressor to help speed the process, but drying efficiency and speed is so dependant on the user keeping everything clean and clear which all to often they don’t.
Everything eco is slower.

I use the dryer when I want things drying quickly. If you've young children as well it could be an issue given how much washing they can generate.

I do 2 washes a day and the heat pump isn't an issue for drying

It's also kinder to the clothes so they last longer as it's less intense heat 👍

I'm well versed in young children and the demands they put on washing piles:)
I am merely pointing out that as a society and consumer, we want 2 things that are not compatible. :)

I find the eco cycle on the washing machine (2 hours 40 mins) is perfect as a second cycle whilst the washing is in the dryer

Beko and Hotpoint are the same company. Arçelik of Turkey. (No schoolboy sniggers)

Mrs picked up a Macro Dehumidifer and it has a clothes function. If we lock it in the room with the clothes in the airer it dries within a few hours. Much better than leaving them up for a few days unless we blast the heating for a long time.

We have a dehumidifier with a laundry function, it's ok we use it for the swimming gear

However it does come on 9-12 in the morning then 7-6 overnight to keep the house humidity levels down. Obviously we dry a lot with the dryer and the condensation levels rise due to it being inside. So it does help

Only in that Beko has bought Whirlpool Europe (W/Pool wanted out) and under the Whirpool banner is Whirlpool, Hotpoint, and indesit. The Hotpoint and Indesit have been Indesit deign and construction , and have been a nightmare with the recall they had for fires.
In time, Arcelik will probably use their designs witht he Hotpoint and Indesit labels (if they continue) but right now, they are still the old designs.....

Gonna be a Beko for us I'm thinking (primarily as that's what my wife is thinking)
