As per the title really any "locals" fancy a bash somewhere? No real preference on course or location, just seeing if anybody is free.

I might be able to come to your gaff next wednesday, the 4th I think it must be.

Will depend if the war office is off that day, she usually is on a wednesday so presume she will be next week.

No point going near my place unless of course you have scuba gear:rolleyes:

Oh and as long as it not as wet and windy as today:confused:

No worries, scuba gear is away for a service at the minute ;)

If it is as windy as today you will be going yourself gusting 60mph down there!

Might be able to drive the ball somewhere near forum average with that wind behind me:whistle:

You happy enough playing your gaff or were you ideally looking to get somewhere else?

Cant comment for Ballybunion and surrounding areas but if I were you I would head for Donegal. You have 2 top courses at Ballyliffin, 2 at Rosapenna and also Portsalon. There are also a few other good links courses around and if you fancied a parkland course you have a couple of forummers(im one) nearby to get you on their tracks. All those great courses and at a much cheaper price than going down south.

You will not be disappointed with the golf in the North West:D

Where to stop is all going to depend on whos coming and where you want to play and how far you wanna travel to play and also when you are coming over and for how long.

Let us know all these factors and one of us over here will point you in the right direction, and what sort of craic you looking for. Nightclubs with young birds or local bars with good craic?

Ballyliffin is a must if you coming this way and they do good deals with a couple of local hotels but gives you a bit further travelling to Portsalon and Rosapena. Staying in Letterkenny brings so many courses to within probably 30-45 mins, and staying in Derry gives you cheaper accom and beer costs and opens up another couple of courses as well as the others all within an hour max.

As I say let us know what you want and we will help sort you out

I was thinking about this last night, if you stayed in letterkenny you have at least 8 superb links courses within an hour and thats not counting parkland courses!

were a mixture of ages mainly between 35 to 50 but still like to think were young at heart lol we can still bust a few moves on the dancefloor,in all honesty i dont think the boys would be that botherd about nightclubs etc, but would be nice to go in pubs with a few people in, travelling to golf not a problem, really appreciate your input lads

When are you planning on coming?

Remember the Irish forum meet is on last weekend of May, 2 rounds at Ballyliffin would be a great way to start or finish your trip;)

As Chris says staying in Letterkenny brings many good and great courses to within an hour max. If making it a little dearer. If you were to stay in Derry you add on travel time to Portsalon, Rosapenna but cut down time to Ballyliffin, Castlerock.

How long a stay and how many rounds you planning on

wont be next year smange, poss year after, will be for a week or 10 days, prob around 12 of us,, but want to put a package togeather and say to the lads right this is what were stopping and playing, this is a rough price, and set up abit of a savings account for em so its not as big lump sum when it comes to shelling out ,which is your home course?

I play at City of Derry, nice parkland course, best in area IMO. Dont judge it by the website as that does it no justice whatsoever.

If you staying for that length of time it may be better to hire a cottage or two rather than pay hotel prices.

If you pick the right area of Donegal to stay in you will have reasonable access to Ballyliffin, Portsalon, Rosapenna, Northwest, Dunfanaghy, Narin and Portnoo, Castlerock to name a few links and parkland would be City of Derry, Letterkenny, Foyle, Roe Park

A great selection of courses to have all within an hour max.

P.S. Is the Tiger in your name from the golfer or are you a Hull City man

cheers for that, i got nicknamed it a few years ago on a golfing trip and it has stuck ever since,i was off 18 at time and on my day was very usefull i think i cleaned up most of the holiday, dont no were the fat bit came from lol

i do support the tigers though and if they stay injury free the might be an outside chance of going up, also black and whites in the rugby league even though 1 of my main golfing buddys was abit of rovers legend
