Which if any personal golfing achievement made you most happy thoughout the last season?
Was it a handicap cut, a personal best or a win.

What made you most sad?

Mine was winning the November stableford with 46 points and getting cut 3.6 points.

Saddest was losing £5 to G1BBO at Beau Desert..lol

After picking up club again last August (never played properly before but knew basic idea of swing, etiquette etc) played all over the place this summer getting more and more into it - or addicted as the other half tells me and now just joined first ever club.

Should get official handicap after a card this weekend then loads of practice and roll on proper season next year:)

I had loads of little achievements in my 1st year playing golf. Biggest was probably runner up in monthly stableford and 1st cut. The fiver off Rob is up there also my birdie on the 1st at Beau as it was my 1st ever :D

lowest was coming last in a comp & Seve

Overall most pleased to have bettered my handicap goal this year - target was 15 and made it to 14 (13.9 to be precise)...

Saddest - has to be Seve - such a huge loss and so very sad :(

Winning one of the major cups and keeping my handicap at 11

Having to stop playing from this Sunday for some weeks due to a hip operation

Looking forward to being fit next year and an assault on a single figure handicap

Chris

2 achievements for me would be:
- Got into single figures this year (was hoping to make it but never thought I would be down to 7.9)
- Won a comp shooting 43 points (2 over par gross, when standing level par on the 18th).

Saddest for my golf was written above too ... standing on the 18th tee level par and then getting a double bogie (plugged in fairway bunker ... then plugged in green side bunker)

The high was just getting even more embroiled in Golf mainly due to the input from here and GM.

Saddest without doubt was Seve, still think about him

Getting back to a 3 handicap was the season goal and the highlight.

Low point - feeling I had no option but to change club due to the continued deteriation of the course condition.

Best has to be playing in the meet in ballyliffin & meeting some great guys , great to be able to put names to faces , geting to play in Forrest of Arden & meeting some more , & going unbeaten in my club matches having played away in them all ....

Saddest golfing wise ??? none realy , maybe not geting my handicap down ,
I just dont get the seve thing guys sorry , the documentry was sad alright but as for seve it would have no bearing on my life ...
Saddest personal , lost a good mate to suicide , spoke to him at 11pm on a sat night he was gone early sunday ,just 2 weeks after us having a savage day at his brothers wedding .. RIP Paddy H.. miss you always

Mad year eh? , guess thats life ,

NO highlights in my golfing year. Spent money on 6 lessons back end of last winter to be ready for the new season. Then Thanks to Colonel Gaddaffi work then sends me away from March until late August so no golf all summer. Then in September I fall over smash my shoulder to bits and now gonna be out until next spring....... So my target of getting the consistency in my game to justify a cat 1 handicap and maybe getting closer to that magical 0 did not happen....:(

Best moment was winning the Aircraft Golfing Society Golfer Of The Year Trophy for 2011. Won one event at Hankley Common and had two third places at Woburn and St Georges Hill against big fields playing off 3 then 2 for the season.

Worst moment was duffing a chip at West Hill in a foursomes match after my partner had almost driven the green on a par 4! Shameful! Agree with the Seve sentiments too. A great loss and the passing of one of my heroes.

i think my best achievement for during the 2011 season was getting cut from 9.0 to 5.8...

i didn't have any stand out moments but i did win 2 trophies at killin and the malawi trophy at callander.the malawi trophy was the last comp of the season for me and i was heading for a superb round but fell apart,if i hadn't fel lapart i may have got cut even more and finished the season as a cat 1 player.

Happy that I won a couple of medals this year. Also we won the Summer Pairs which puts my name on the board. Handicap is moving in the right direction and well placed to go to single figures in 2012.

Sad about Seve and that I cant chip properly.

Highlight was winning the Tain Autum Open, esp after going upfrom 8 to 10 though the year.

low light was missing out on a club match a Royal Aberdeen cos of a bad back which pt me out for almost 2 months.

No highlights in competitions, but playing St Andrews Old and New for the first time was very special. Also the forum meet at my club wasn't bad, and got to meet 40 odd forum members. Odd being the word.:)

Playing my first 18 holes with my daughter in Spain, and her beating me by a point was another highlight.

Low point has to be Seve's death, puts any disappointments on the course into perspective.

Highlight for me - has to be my first ever sub 80 round - 79. Got the handicap down by 3(almost4) so making progress.

Lowest point was an attack of the shermans midway through a good round which took about 4 weeks to recover from. 10 holes of embarassment, and the simple fix was found on here (standing too close).

Hi's

3 medal wins,
1 bogey comp win
hc cut to 12
coming 2nd in my winter pairs knockout.

lows,

coming 2nd in my winter pairs knocking after a bad rule call (by myself) meaning loss of the match on a technicality. loosing a mate saturday night to suicide.

Has to be getting back into golf. After nearly 4 yrs off though 3 duff discs in neck, Plus a shoulder that kept popping out. Spent alot of time sorting a swing that worked within the limitations. Not playing the full 18 yet. Keeping it to 9-12 holes,(but doing that only a couple over). Just rejoined a club.

Goal for this coming year play the full 18 and get a new handicap. Oh and keep playing. Plus with luck make some of the forum meets. To meet you guys.
