Ok, it's the 3rd of July, you've got a 10.30 tee-time in the normal monthly medal.
I'ts a beautiful Sunday morning and it normally takes you 15 mins to drive to the club.
What time would you leave your house and what do you do before you tee off??

I would leave my house at 9(ish) to give me an hour to stretch probably (two-club weighted swings), hit a few balls at the range and get some putting practice in.

Id give myself half an hour to warm up, practice and get my card. I don't believe in spending too long practicing just before a round.

Leave home at 7, hit the practice ground, 50 odd 8 irons, back to the club house, full english, a bit of a natter, watch a few lads tee off (normally pretty comical), practice chip, putt, loiter a bit, hit the indoor nets, sort out my stuff, possibly clean my irons, sign inand buy some fanta, more loitering, then mess up the first hole and wonder why I bothered.

I always get up early, so why loiter at home, when I can do it up the gc.

Exactly what I will be doing before tomorrows medal:

Leave home 8:30, stop off at the driving range a few miles from the club, 10 mins stretching, hit half a bucket of balls with more stretching between changes of clubs, just a few nice easy swings with every other club, last 15 or 20 dedicated to chips of varying distances. Then down to the club, sign in, check handicap etc leaving 20 minutes or so on the putting green and finally hit another 10 or so balls into the nets immediately before tee time.

"Failure to prepare is to prepare to fail"

1. 0915-0930 leasurely drive to club.
2. 0930-0945 arrive, park, stand around chatting in car park.
3. 0945-0950 unload bag and trolley from car and assemble.
4. 0950-0955 get changed, realise I've left my shoes at home.
5. 0955-1000 throw gear in back of car without removing bag from trolley.
6. 1000-1010 drive home.
7. 1010-1015 find and wash shoes (still dirty from last week).
8. 1015-1025 drive to club, wearing golf shoes.
9. 1025-1030 unload car, hurried repair to trolley with duck tape after damaging it at serial 5, walk briskly register (too cool to run), arrive at tee out of breath with time for a single hurried practice swing, slice ball OOB.

Leave home at 9.45 to maximise sleep ;)

10 mins hitting a ball in the net to warm up then 20 minutes putting.

Happy Days :)

Leave house at 9.30, get signed in at 9.50ish, putt for 15 mins, head to the range and hit 5 wedges, 5 8 irons then 5 of whatever club I'm using off the 1st tee then head to the tee.

Leave the house at 9. Get to the club and get a tea (in a takeaway cup). Off to the chipping green for 20 mins or so then onto the range and hit some balls with each club - half an hour on here then probably get another cuppa and go and do some putting. Get to the tee about 10:15.

Leave the house at 9.15 and get to the club for about 9.30. 30 minutes to stretch and hit some balls to loosen up and find my timing. Sign in, get my card, pay a visit (pre-match nerves) and make sure I have tees markers and a pencil or two. Get to the putting green about 10.10 and hit a few chips and putts. Get onto the 1st tee 5 minutes before my tee tme and meet my partners. Swap cards, wait my turn and smack it straight right OB

Last year it would have been, leave home @ 08:30, golf club by 9am. Stand in pro shop watching telly, drinking tea and generally giving and receiving abuse on all manner of subjects.

10:20 trap 3 to drop the kids off, 10:27 on to the 1st tee, 10:30 hit one away. 10:38 stand on 2nd tee marking myself down for a double bogey. :o

This year will be different

Leave about 9:40
Get to club, unload kit and set up, get shoes on and signed in by 10.
15 minutes on putting green to get a feels for exactly how the greens aren't running.
Arrive at tee about 10:20 and swish the driver a few times to loosen up.

get out of bed at 10am, have a mars bar. arrive at tea at 10.25 have another mars bar. show my playing partners this p easy putting stick thing i got free with my mars bars. 10.30am lock and load drive straight 240 yards. 10.31 realise that it it is a par 3 150 yard hole. doh :D

I suspect I know what the correct answer should be - this isn't it.

I will have been up ages - always am, and with such a late start(!) I will have drunk lots of tea.
head for car about 9.45, realise I have left either my shoes or battery in my flat (2nd floor - no lift) so go back for it. back to the car and realise that gps like object on the table was the gps. back again, stopping off to unload tea.
get to the club about 10 past, natter, assemble clubs & trolley and change shoes - I can multi-task! - sign in and get to the tee with about 5 mins to spare. do some swishing, tee up, one more swish then go look for it.
