Looking after my golf shoes

The best possible way to look after golf shoes is to wash them in soapy water, dry them with a hairdryer and rub olive oil into them. It sounds a little obsessive but it keeps them supple and water proof. This method also works on fooball boots and rugby boots. I once ran out of oil so tried using unsalted butter but the results weren't as good. Stick to the Extra Virgin if you can afford it.

When mine get wet, I stuff them with newspaper (as per Homer's suggestion) but I also wrap them in newspaper and then leave them for two days. Don't be tempted to put them on a radiator though, as this can crack the leather, even when wrapped.

......... Then all that's left is to add some lettuce, sliced tomato and cucumber, season as required and you have a lovely salad.
