I've taken advantage of it a few times and the course is always in great condition.

I quite like the London Club (both courses), and although it drains well in winter, for me £100 is too steep to play there in winter. That sort of money will get you on a championship links in much better condition.

a championship links for less than £100 certainly sounds good

If you’re going all the way from Wales to the Kent London club, it’s only an hour further down to Sandwich.

Winter open in Feb is my next Porthcawl trip (as a rule) but my County Card gets me on for less

Winter golf on the International? What a bleak place to be if there's no sunshine, looking like rain at any moment and the wind - oh, did I mention how exposed it can be? I've done it twice (second time only because I thought the 1st must have been a one off) and never, ever again. I wouldn't go even if someone paid for me.
