lol could not believe my round yesterday

i havent played for months and being off 24 was not expecting much but played 18 holes yesterday with some friends who are off 11 and 13 and out drove them on nearly every hole hitting fairways too unfortunately they both still beat me but was happy especially on the 18 hole were i drove the ball 270 yards right down the middle of the fairway with my £20 driver lol

ahahahaha - I love your perception of golf.

I outdrove them on all holes and they were lower handicap players than me so I must have played well.
..... they both outscored me though.

So the moral of the story is;
Distance off the tee is the most important part of your game?
You don't have to hit it a mile on every shot to be a good golfer?
Distance control is much more important than sheer distance?

I remember a professional golfer once saying something like 'distance control does not mean hitting your 7 iron 200 yards. distance control means you can hit your 7 iron to your intended target, controlling to whether you want to hit it 140 yards or 165'

i agree but before i kept topping it all the time so was struggling a lot just to get to the green but now thats improved my short game needs work
