god how obvious is my lack of shoulder turn and wrist cock!!! I have to say though I was trying to do a bit more with that and hopefully overtime it will get smoother as still feels a little rushed and slightly off balance at finish

The new grip is quite a weak one. Becarefull you dont wind up with a slice. Nice swing overall. Very well done to Rick aswell. So great guys on here.

G1BB0, you have a really nice swing there, your head doesn't move at all! I look forward to seeing it in full "swing" at Woburn in March!!

Rick, great work. Its great to see people offering so much support and even offering to go meet face to face to keep someone in the game of golf. True gent!

Now all you need to do is get some funky pink trousers G1BB0 - then you'll fit right in :D

Out of interest Rick, what slow mo camera do you use? Fancy getting one.

Also, I'm no pro, but your original grip looked to have "a long left thumb" - I had that and my pro made me shorten it (not by cutting it in half...)

Had a good session with Steve at the range tonight. I took some photos and video footage so the expert(s) on here can point him in the right direction, however we did work on a couple of things that I thought would help.

Overall, Steve's swing is pretty solid and there isn't too much wrong with it.

I thought one of the key issues was with Steves grip, it was very much in the palms as opposed to fingers and the left hand was a bit weak so we strengthened that up a bit which I think will help him to stop pushing everything right. We brought the right hand over more rather than it sitting under the club and again focused on gripping in the fingers.

The other main thing was the swing plane which was a bit out to in and caused Steve to cut accros the ball. I tried to get Steve to swing on more of a 7 o'clock to 1 o' clock path and to extend the arms more down the line.

We did some minor work with the posture as well and got Steve to just hold his chin a little higher as it was on the chest a little bit. Also got Steve to stand a bit wider to help with his balance and got his right foot turning a bit more in the follow through so he finished more up on his toe and facing the target at finish.

Steve could do with a bit more shoulder turn in the back swing, but we left that alone for now. Same with the wrist cock....not much in evidence but didnt want to change too many things at once.

Other than that the swing is pretty tidy and definitely effective.

Started to see some good results towards the end and Steve said the new grip started to feel more natural.

Hopefully I havent screwed him up too much and would appreciate it if Bob could take a look and correct any misinformation I have given Steve before its too late.

Backswing too inside, not enough wrist hinge, needs more pivot and weight transfer in downswing.

Thanks Dave...... we strengthened the left hand and made the right more neutral as the right was a bit too strong I thought.

I would say it looks more neutral now rather than weak but I'm not an expert...
The link here has some good images...I reckon Steve's new grip looks more like the centre one.

as wierd as it felt at 1st I have to say I was hitting the ball a lot better with the new grip and it actually felt quite natural after a few balls.

I know my swing plane is not great and posture could do with some work but all in good time. Hopefully after the winter and plenty of practice I will reap the rewards.

Main aim is sub 20 h/c so definitely got some work to do :)
