Leicester City owner's helicopter crashes just after picking him up

It’s been about 12 hrs since the crash.. surely they know if the chairman was in it or not.. BBC still vague about his whereabouts..

Very sad news

Just how safe are helicopters? seems to be a lot of deadly accidents reported
They are as safe as any mechanical engine machine - if it goes wrong then there is a possiblity of an issue - it does get more affected by changes in wind and if there is a loss of power then it’s going to hard to land it safely.

Very sad news , the owner seemed like a person who really enjoyed the sport and was fully immersed into Leicester- thoughts with the family

Sad indeed.

You can glide a chopper down as long as you have the height!
But a failure on take off is usually catastrophic and not much chance of getting out.
I have been in a few but really scared me.

I believe statically it's the most dangerous form of travel per ratio of journeys made.

Motorcycles are the most dangerous in regards to the deaths per 100.

Helicopter and Small light aircraft are the most dangerous modes of air travel

How many of those are solo motorcycle accidents and how many of those involve other vehicles? Motorcycles aren't necessarily dangerous, car drivers that don't bother looking for them are.

Sorry yes wasn’t phrased well

There are more people who die when riding a motorbike per 100 journeys than any other mode of transport and without looking into the specific stats i would guess the majority of those deaths are caused by a driver in a car

Reports now that the owner was on board along with his daughter and a few other unknown guests
