Took the wife and 2 daughter to Lego land yesterday.wife and I got in free due to Sun news paper offer and 1 year old also free but had to pay £39 for my 3 year old. Thought that was very steep especially as with all the queues she only went on 5 rides. As it was the hottest day yesterday that did not help but I thought the Lego mini land looked good from a distance but up close it looked very tired paint faded and chipped. The smell also was bad around the boat ride smelt like blocked drains which was right next to food areas.also went on the Atlantis submarine ride and the heat was unbearable in the submarine everyone was complaining.Good points was the 4d cinema daughters loved it but I got soaked. And I bought a drink vessel for £7.50 but could fill it for free all day so as being hot that saved us a lot.i could of bought a queue jump but that was more money on top of a expensive stay. IMO I would rate it 2.5/5
 
For me the best thing about going to Lego Land was seeing Concorde fly low over the place just before landing or after take-off (RIP beautiful white bird)
 
Kellogg's did a offer on back of cereal packs to let adult in for free.theres a Facebook page called. The sun Legoland ticket swop site. It's mainly for swops but the tickets are for various dates and some people can't make the dates so are selling them off. Worth a try. I stayed in the Hilton hotel in Braknell only a 20 min drive from the park. Cost £69 for the night had a sainsburys opposite so had breakfast in there before we left.
 
We took our nephews a couple of weeks ago and had a good day. It is VERY expensive but we used clubcard vouchers and only paid £8.50 of vouchers per ticket, so that wasn't too bad.

With the nice weather though it was very very busy so you don't get to go on much. My biggest gripe though is the price of the food there, and lack of a decent picnic area for when you take your own lunch.
 
We took my kids there on the last half term and did the same thing through the Sun. Good job we did it that way or i'd have had to remortgage the house to do it.

If we'd paid for all of us it was something like £130 for the family pass for the day and £3 to park the car. Plus the £1 for a locker which was non refundable so everytime you had to put another quid in the slot.

Wasn't overly impressed with most of the rides but have to say the Atlantis ride on the submarines with the aquarium around and underneath you was really good. Plus the models were pretty good but way over price IMO as it was so busy we only managed half a dozen rides in a good 8/9 hours as we were there from open till close.
 
We took The Boy 4 or 5 years ago and it was almost a waste of time.
We spent nearly 9 hours there and only spent about 45 minutes on rides - the rest of the time was spent in line.....
Good job we used Clubcard vouchers too....

Was Windsor Safari park when my parents took me and they had the awesome toboggan ride down the hill. Have to admit also thought it needed modernising in parts.

Oh yes I remember the toboggan ride... The apes took a wiper blade, on one occasion, which properly amused the boys! On one visit one of the lions bit into the rear tyre of the car in front causing it to deflate rather rapidly... Happy days... We were also in the first wave to go to Thorpe Park... Wasn't even really a theme park in those days...
 
I have to say, in general, family days out are relatively more expensive nowadays in comparison to when we used to take our lads out... We, when we can, revisit with the grandchildren some of the places we took their Dad to... OK so some of the places have revamped and gone 'upmarket' but at a time money is generally tight for families... Its got to be hard justifying the expense at times....

Exactly right to much to justify and why we did it with the free tokens. Family days out are becoming a thing of the past as its just to dear and most theme parks are now just teenagers newly earning or groups of younger guys and girls. Don't see many young kiddies now at them
