Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

Football is riddled with morons at every level from fans to players to coaches to board rooms. It attracts the sections of society that haven't been brought up properly, have no standards of decency or manners and wear their idiocy as a badge of honour.

In terms of this incident, don't worry because those that run the game have everything under control. Gordon Taylor for example has said the incident was "very disappointing." What a clown.

I'm off to a rugby match tomorrow. I doubt I will hear any fans chanting about paedophiles or murdered fans. Doubt also that the crowd will be smashing up the stadium or running on to the pitch.

The beautiful game? Don't make me laugh. I'd go as far to say that there is hardly anyone I know that is not losing interest in football, primarily due to the moral vacuum that is the Premiership.

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

:rant:So what has gone wrong with society when some people think that this type of action is a good idea?

People these days have no respect for the rule of law, because it has been hamstrung by years of politicaly correct human rights nonsense.

Idiots like this should be bought to the next home match, tied to the goalposts and flogged. Cant we extradite him somewhere, we seem keen enough to send a certain decent law abiding golf playing citizen to the states, but we cant get rid of the scum.

Going to have a lie down

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

It appears Jones thinks it's fine to chant re the Turkish incident though.

Horrid man, vile? Aye David you would know about that.

Anyone see it tonight?

Disgraceful stuff and I hope he gets a custodial. No place at all in society for scum like that.

Dave Jones was a disgrace in his after match interview saying ALL Leeds fans are the same, animals basically.

Disgusting sweeping generalism from a man with a very murky past.

Maybe thats because they were giving him pelters all night about his past

Lets be honest, Leeds fans sung about Jones past not good, so then obviously the Sheff Weds fans will sing about something they know will wind Leeds fans up. It worked they didnt like them singing about that so decided to tear the stadium up.

On to Chris Kirkland, I thought he handled it terrifically well. I would expect anyone to go down who was not expecting to be pushed down, the guy got him in the throat and clearly made significant pressure as his head flings back in an unnatural way. How can anyone say he made a meal of it is a disgrace the guy had the right to walk off the pitch but didnt he stayed on. I know I would have tried to bounce back straight up and go after the guy. The reports of he had tears coming down his face at the full time whistle says it all, it hurt him not necessarily physically but emotional the guy was torn. Stop it with your typical oh footballers fake all the time and big hard rugby players would never act an injury. Remember the bloodgate incident, every sport has its bad parts but dont tar Kirkland with going down like he had been shot when it was a tiny shove because it doesnt deserve that and the most should be made about this incident the better.

Personally to stop things like this happening they either need to reduce away crowd numbers or start putting a 100 fans in smaller sections spread all the way around the grounds this would stop most pack like behaviours.

You do know that Dave Jones was cleared of all charges and the judge threw the case out within its first week? No case to answer.

Was going to say this aswell. Disgusting comments really.

Anyhow, the Leeds fan is a pollock and hope he gets jailed.

Smelly makes a good point in his last paragraph , I'm losing interest in football because of all the nonsense around it.

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

I know Dave from his time as Stockport manager. Lovely decent bloke who went through hell. To bring that up here is pathetic in the extreme.

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

Did Dave Jones go overboard with his post match comments, i'm not sure he did. Considering the chants that were being aimed at him and his players it's hard to judge him on his words without actually being there. Plus he did say its not fair to tarnish them all with the same brush, but unfortunately thats what happens.

Also did it look good on Warnock telling his team to go and applaud the away fans at the end of the game, only for him to then at the end of the game say to interviewers its days like today with the chanting and assault on CK that makes him ashamed to be Leeds manager.

It's about time bans and sentences were imposed on the guilty parties and examples are made, only then will people take note of it. The relative miniscule fines that are given to clubs and players considering their revenues are a joke.

Fader I guess you didn't see the Wednesday fans with Turkish football shirts on and all holding plastic knifes please know all the facts before you write utter rubbish

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

Living in Leeds I know just how much the team is adored here. I moved over in 2000 when Leeds were doing well (compared to now) and went to a match at Elland Road. I was in the kop end with a mate who was a really passionate Leeds fan (tattoos the lot) and will never go back again. The language was appalling and the hate (isiots would say passion) with which said words were said was frankly shocking to me. There were fathers with their young sons (7 years up I would say) who were shouting these sorts of things too. What sort of upbringing is that. those same kids are the 20 somethings now who are perpetuating the idiocy. Leeds has an awful reputation and I believe has the most banning orders of any club in the league. Some people here take pride in this which I find worrying. I have had loads of discussions (arguements) with Leeds fans about this sort of thing. i have been told it's 'tribal' by one of the guys at my cricket club. Now coming from South Africa where there are real issues with tribalism going back thousands of years, this made me laugh and when I asked if he was joking he got really angry and called me out. Really?

I played rugby yesterday and got absolutely danced on at a ruck (my fault for trying to slow the ball down) and the guy was sent for a 10 minute breather. When he came on her headed straight for me to apologise. He bought me a beer after the game too. Done and dusted. i daresay that if someone had gone in with a two footed tackle in a local football match there would not have been this sort of apology or reaction after the game. Our kit man was a big Leeds fan back in the day and was banned form all grounds in the 80's for being caught with an iron bar in his tousers. He regrets every moment of being a Leeds fan and the behaviour it brought out of him back then. He doesn't even check the scores anymore.

The majority of fans in this town love football and don't cause any trouble at all. Pity about the thousands of pillocks that do.

Rugby for me everyday.

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

The Cops have him!! turns out he is a cockney from Cheltnam, nothing to do with Leeds but as is the usual case a travelling White who doesn't belong here brings the club into disrepute. I hope it is the last we see of this knob though I doubt it.

Re: Leeds fans cover themselves in shame. Again

Travelled away a lot in the 80's with Fulham (72 league grounds) and been away with England too. Leeds, Millwall and surprisingly Bristol Rovers were the only places I've ever felt truly scared all day from the moment I got to the vicinity of the town until I got back in the car and heading out again. Definitely learned to keep my mouth closed at all times to keep my SW London accent under wraps.

I accepted it then as it was a sickness. More so when all the firms ammassed under the England banner. That was truly scary. Never again. Was in Dublin for the abandoned match and I knew it would kick off from about 7.00am whenwe arrived and the bars were already full and serving beer. I thought we had moved on post Heysel and Hillsborough but I sometimes wonder if we have done anything in 30 years to do enough to truly eradicate this illness
