SC5 has the cloloured screen and I think you can customise the backgrounds a bit more. To be fair the price I paid for the SC5 was silly so never really contemplated the 2.5 but it does a perfectly good job.

I love the feature that allows you to move the cross hairs on the green to approximately where the flag is on the green to get a pretty good actual yardage. That said even if you just get a reading front/middle or back at least you can factor in wind, dampness etc to give you a club to get the ball up to the flag

Thought provoking post murph, thanks for that. Had never actually considered it that way before. I generally know my distances pretty well (I think :) ) but never considered the implication of reading a pin at the back of green and over shooting.

Hmmmm, damn the choices!

Another one here in the SkyCaddie camp. I own the 2.5 and I can thoroughly recommend it. I bought mine for £169 from American Golf and had a free leather case and in-car charger worth £40. This offer is still on too. But dont forget that you have to pay a £30 subscription charge though.

I also have a Powakaddy and have also purchased this BRACKET for the SkyCaddie and it works a treat.

Well my SG5 arrived today! can't wait to the weekend to use it. It looks the business!
Tell me, whats the best way to use it? I don't want to strap it to my belt like a right ponce! i would like to put it on my bag but is the clip safe enough? Guaranteed i'd lose it first time out! what does everyone else do?

stupid question i know!!!!

not a stupid question at all, actually been wondering that myself! Hopefully a sky caddy user will be along shortly with their referred method.

If not maybe start a new thread asking same question. Sometimes a query can be missed in an old thread that people are not reading.

I use the clip on my gps device over the zip of my top pocket on the bag and pull the two zips of that pocket tight against each side of the clip - works well.

I actually put mine in my right hand pocket but make sure I put all my tees etc in my left hand one so as not to scratch the face. I did have it attached to my belt early on and it does come out nice and easliy but like most others I was too nervous to put it on my bag in case I lost it

There is a metal glove rail on my Titleist bag, and it clips to that. Works fine. I think I would find it annoying in my pocket or attached to my belt.
