Lack of Distance

Recently I have not been hitting my irons as far and my dad says its because of the winter weather.is this true?

Yes cold air will slow the ball down more so than warm air.

How much distance do you stand to lose in winter?

Depending on wind direction, temperature and the distance I have to hit the ball I find I have to go 1-2 clubs stronger.

My 8 iron flys about 140 but recently I have been using from about 120 yards

I hit PW max 100yds today, its -4 here.............. in summer I'd hope to better that

Cold air is far denser than warm air so will offer a lot more resistance hence the ball not going as far, I tend to find I will need to use probably one more club if not two.

They suggest that 10% distance is lost!!
