Lack of competitive golf.....

Is my club fairly unique in not having that many Sunday competitions???
I work every Saturday unfortunately, but get a day off in the week (Wednesdays) to compensate.
The only regular Wednesday competition is what we call the WAMS (Wednesday AM Seniors) which is foursome/greensomes, which isn't really my cup of tea.
So that only leaves Sundays to play competitive golf.
Looking at the club diary for January/February there is only ONE qualifying competition on a Sunday that I can enter.
There was nothing in the diary for January on a Sunday until....

Sunday 22nd Jan JUNIOR STABLEFORD
Sunday 29th Jan PICK-UP FOURSOMES
Sunday 19th Feb MONTHLY STABLEFORD
Sunday 26th Feb PICK-UP FOURSOMES & JUNIOR STABLEFORD

So that's only one qualifying competition in two months that I can enter
Is your club like this???

Over the Winter it doesn't sound too bad - many don't have anything until April.
We have Winter League but that's it - and they're not qualifiers.
Does it pick up from the Spring..?

I imagine its because its winter. We have nothing between Oct and April , then 3 Wednesday cups per month and 3 Sunday stableford, but all the main comps are one sat. Up here as well you can enter club opens which there are quite a few on a sunday.

My club has monthly medals playable on sat and Sunday for the reason above

We're quite lucky I guess then. We have fortnightly qualifiers, both Saturday and Sunday.

My club's medals are either Saturday or Thursday over the summer. I don't recall any medals (gents) on Sunday.

Same at my club. Every Saturday is a comp. Not many if any on a Sunday, except the Oct to March winter league

Our qualifying comps are nearly all on Sunday, although we have none from start of October until end of March.

I just find it strange that during two months of the year, albeitduring the winter, there is only one qualifying competition that I can enter on a Sunday.

Ours is the same, very very rare to have any kind of gents competition on a Sunday at our place.
TBH this is something iv complained about in the past as even Saturdays now are no longer exclusive for gents competitions. With clubs trying to get in as much money as they can it's all invitational this and invitational that all th time.

2 Q's per month, one Sat one Sun even in winter course conditions permitted and if the course is open you obviously have the option of a supplementary card.

We have 2 qualifiers alternating Saturday and Sunday thoroughout the year plus a midweek medal on Thursday.

There's usually an opportunity for everyone regardless of their work pattern.

Back down your end in March as we go off to N France again.

We tried putting on and moving some of the comps from Saturday to Sunday and they were very poorly represented, so much so that Sunday's has immediately reverted back to social golf and if there are any comps they'll only be mixed as it seems Sunday's is when more couples play together against the main male membership on a Saturday.

We do have midweek medals for those that works shifts or weekends though.
