Sorry to hear about the redundancy. How quickly can you get it done. I assume this is under the company health cover? When will you hear about your job situation. Worrying times on both fronts
Some time this week, they will drop the news. Last week the senior manager narrowed it down, but the logic was flawed. There will be re distribution but some will be given their marching orders. Not sure where the 3 months notice is, but I am sure that will be in the letter.
So will use the company scheme to get as far as possible.

Not good. Hopefully though once you know where you stand you can work out the next move. Hope it sorts itself quickly

tore all the muscles off of my right knee cap and spent five months in a leg brace and a further two months on crutches ,,in total seventeen months off work and still cant walk nine holes let alone eighteen holes so have to use a buggy.

four and a half hour op to have the muscles stitched back on ,they had to drill holes in my knee cap to pass the stitches through.

Torn ACL when I was 26 had couple of ops.
Tried to rehab and play again after 18months went after three games so finished .
Took up golf.
One thing I do is lots of cycling to strengthen my legs , it works for me but ask your doc.
I had a ankle injury early last year and it has deffo affected my swing went from 5 to 8 hcap in one season.
I developed a sort of punch shot with all my clubs to try and not transfer my weight onto my left side.
Ruined my swing ,I am still trying to sort it out.
Hope it goes well and good luck.
What got to me most was I got very frustrated with myself playing crap. But you need to accept it’s only game at the end of the day.
So try and stay positive.

did both my cruciate ligaments playing football, which was the main reason for trying golf, no problems so far but only get to play a couple of times a month at the moment due to the weather, once it light in the evenings might think about playing once a week.

I’ve damagaed my ACL’s in both knees and had full reconstruction twice on my left PCL.
I broke both my femurs and damaged my knees at the same time.
Mostly get by ok with full swings but do have times where I feel unstable and struggle to walk the full 18 holes.
I use a push trolley which really helps me manage around the course.

I snapped my left ACL watching (yes watching) football when I was about 30. I never played again but could manage tennis to a reasonable level, which I played till I was mid 40's then took up golf. When I was 46 a just starting golf I decided to get it fixed as I was experiencing more trouble with it and I'm now 66 and yep it cracks and crunches a bit but I manage golf 2 or 3 times a week with no trouble

It was the last game of the season and I played for, and was Chairman of, a club that was playing for the County League title for the first time. I was past playing in that, our 1st eleven, and we beat our arch rivals and won the highest trophy we've ever won.

Having a beer afterwards in the clubhouse one of the junior squad players was gobby to me and I said I'm gonna get you for that, he bolted and I chased and we got to the half way line when I got close enough to grab him. He dropped to the floor and so not to hurt him I jumped over him and when I landed my left knee felt like the gear stick of a 60's Ford Cortina - it moved in several directions and snapped my ACL - I never played more than 10 minutes football after that!

My mate last year torn his ACL playing footie. He managed to play golf just fine while waiting for his op. Came on our trip to Amendoeira. Didn’t phase him.

I had a keyhole surgery on my left knee about 20 years ago. Quite a bit of cartilage removed and discovered a ruptured ACL at the same time.

I never had the reconstruction surgery on that but instead decided to give up competitive football. This is when I turned my attention to golf and to be honest I rarely have any problems with the knee on course except for the occasional ache and stiffness from time to time following a round.

I’m right handed so in my case the affected leg is my leading one.

My entire modern day golfing “career” has been with knee injury’s

I gave up football because was just too much for the knees anymore

I was 24 when I tore my ACL in my left knee (my right has had key hole surgery to clear out gunk) I’ve had a piece of my hamstring removed from my left leg and screwed either side the knee to make a new ligament. On cold days it feels worse. However the walking combined with the swinging does help keep it from flaring up all time

Sometimes feel it through swing

Flare your feet it bit so your knee is half in the finish position to help prevent too much twist

Like this gentleman, I ruptured my ACL, Medial and co-lateral ligaments in my left knee playing football (dislocated my knee to the side). 14 ops later its still not quite right.
I had patella bone tunnel graft reconstruction (relatively new technique at the time) and somehow they botched it and a year later one of the screws holding the graft in place came through the bone.
Most of my cartilage and half of my patella has been removed due to disintegration over time.

It all meant that, when I played golf I had to subtly adjust and adapt my swing to splay my left foot a bit. For a long while it resulted in not fully turning and result was a "bit of a fade". I finally managed to sort that out, get my handicap down to single figures and then some bawbag in a van wrote my car off and rendered my golf playing a thing of the past.

My advice (as given by my physio at the time) is to strengthen the muscle around the knee and keep it strong and this offers a deal of protection to the joint.

Dependant on damage, surgery is probably a reasonable course, the techniques and success rates are better now than 20 years ago.

Yes it was bad, but I got up and drove home. The feeling was awful the top half of the leg went one way and the bottom, below the knee, another. As I didn't get it fixed for several years the play in the knee joint was badly wearing the joint away. I've since had both hips replaced too but dont need to worry too much when I golf as without all the surgery I'd barely be able to walk 😁

How the hell did u drive home ?
I couldn’t get up off the floor .
My mate was a pro international footballer he’s just had his knee replaced , gained 20 yrs off the tee and is now off four from eight.
Should be classed as artificial aids ,lol.

Does any one on here play with a knee injury, something like a ruptured ligament?
Specialist said I would be okay, so I hit some balls today, so far so good. But balance is a bit cattle trucked when walking.
So if you have done the journey, your experiences would be appreciated.

I ruptured my ACL and tore my meniscus cartilage playing football about ten year ago, so never played since. I am absolutely fine playing golf as I am in control of my movement.
