For sure, and I don't think Ralph Lauren will mind one jot.
It's more about JT. If I was him, I would not wear RL again. No chance. They just hung him out to dry on this, while totally ignoring their own short comings.
I am sure JT, professional as he is, would wear it if he qualities for the team, but I wouldn't.
Something similar happened with Johan Cruyff. He was sponsored by Puma and refused to wear the Dutch kit made by Adidas. In the end he wore a shirt with 2 stripes whilst the rest of the team wore the familiar 3 stripes.
