just been kicked off my course!!!!

errm forgive me if i'm wrong but if you're a member at William Wroe, you're also a member at Altrincham as well?
You shoulda just driven to Alty (Which is a waaay better course than WW)
Oh and yeah WW is probably the chaviest Golf Course I've ever been round, I've played there 3 times an on all occasions the golfers in front of me have been walking around with cans of lager.

Hippy has already explained that he does not drive, that is why he is a member at WW because its just round the corner from him. No need to have a go at a fellow forumer because of the course he plays at.

Chavvy or not if thats the most accessible course available to him you can't knock him. I'd love to play somewhere more salubrious all the time but can't afford to do so. If that course lets him enjoy this great game without too much inconvenience then you need to get over your prejudice and allow him to embrace the sport

its actually there problem, i checked the terms n conditions of my contract and they are supposed to give two weeks notice and only gave one !!!! after reading throuh them i also discovered they are not adhereing to other t's n c's , so really i dont need to get over anything , i was in the right ..... :o

i was golf homer !!! i popped in to the office today to find out more !!! the mad thing is they were finished by 11 am and the course was kept closed for the rest of the day ..... what a waste and loss of cash .. not good planning in my book !!!

hippyg

Chill. My advice would be to politely point out that they are failing to meet the T&C's and that potentially they are breaching their contract with you as a member. It may not get you anywhere but at least you'd have the satisfaction of knowing you've put your point over.

When you are moving, contact the local lcubs that are the most convenient for you in your new location and inform them you are potentially looking to join. If they are worth their salt they'll arrange for you to visit and have a look round and you may even get a complimentary 9/18 holes

Maybe you could apply to be their business manager?

hippy check the T's & C's again. Many clubs allow dd payments but you can still be liable for the full year's fees even if you quit the club or if you stop the dd.

their breaches might help you to get out without paying any more.

i did consider flixton but not a great fan of 9 hole courses to be honest but in hind sight maybe i should have as it is a better course and no dought better a better run club .... i have been looking at a few options for when i make the move and worsley g.c is looking my best option so far

oops missed the bit about HippyG not driving.
BTW not having a go at the club, was just a bit miffed at following around some hackers carrying tinnys.
WW have got a horrible balancing act to do. They are GREAT value for money but as with being good value it also means that they can't police the course as much as they would like as the staff cost would be too great. Hence you have some bad apples popping up on the course.
So I think the 'chaviest course' comment was more aimed at few individuals that cause that appearance rather than the course it self.

BTW HippyG, how far away are you from Boysnope?
It's a luvverly gentle and flat course (OK, it's a little dull) But it's run very well and price wise it's only slightly more expensive than WW.
Oh and they have the added bonus of allowing you to do 11 or 18 holes (I always think doing just 9 is not quite enough)

Hippy

Worsley is a good shout played there a couple of times in club matches nice course and seemed very friendly.
