If my course is normally par 71 off the whites and CSS is usually 71.....If the SSS is 72 on the day and so is the CSS at 72 what does this mean...... I shot an 88 off 18.1 and was cut to 17.6...

You are definitely a tad confused, young sir.

Off whites - par 71, SSS 71. These don't change.

If, on the day of the comp, the course for whatever reason played a bit harder than usual (in accordance with CONGU formulae) then the CSS (competition standard scratch) might go up to 72.

So your net 70 was 1 better than SSS, BUT 2 better than CSS so you were cut - but I'm not sure why 0.5 :D

Thanks Leftie....And sorry that was meant to be 17.5......Your maths are perfect....What i forgot to say was that since that comp iv had 0.1 back......It did read right upto last weekend when i had 30 points stableford and acquired another 0.1....
So im now off 17.6 exact.....
