Indeed sad loss. Good guy, was lucky to have met him around town once, formidable person with a strong presence of character. He did nearly hit me in a buggy once on the New course too but no way I dared to pull him up on it. :D

This is a really good but long interview with him that’s worth a watch, I was a little surprised digging it out again as it’s not been viewed all that much.

Indeed, very sad! Even simply because he was younger than me! He was quite a good golfer too - off 5 or 6 when I had a bit of contact with him a number of years ago (memorable for me, but highly unlikely to have been for him).

30 odd years ago, I was a bored accountant, and saw a job advert in Golf Illustrated for European Tour referees/ tournament officials. I was interviewed at Wentworth by Andy McFee and John Paramor. Enjoyable day, they both seemed to be decent blokes. I didn't get the job!

RIP John Paramor. The warmth in all the tributes show the respect that the world of golf had for you.
