Saw them play a few years back - absolutely brilliant. Will be listening to one of their live concerts today.
Sad news.
I would t say I was a massive special s fan but did like some of his solo work. Lucky enough to see him live mid 80 with the colorfield.

Absolutely awful news to hear. The Specials and Terry resonated with so many people in the UK, and he'll always be known as one of the nicest guys in music.

Wrote and sang a lot of truths that have not aged. Him and Jerry Dammers wrote songs for the time that span the decades and that formed a key part of the soundtrack to my student life - fun times in Strathclyde Student Union, the later college Bio Soc discos and down Paisley Student Union.

Sadly yes, I heard this before. In an interview I saw he used to self medicate on gin before he was put on lithium.
Not surprisingly after that experience…
